Sonam Kapoor's choice in movies

Since this bolly section discusses Miss Kapoor's career and failure at the box office so much. A small observation of her choice in movies -

Most of her roles in movies all seem to come from novels, and r some type of version of some old classic story - with a bit of symbolism- for example:

Saawariya - An adaptation of the russian story white nights and used alot of symbolism

Dillii 6 - Not from a novel but the kala bandar episode was a news story and the movie had tons of symbolism

Aisha - Remake of emma and clueless

Mirza sahiba - If reports are true then this will be another movie adaptation of a old classic story


So while most of the actresses are doing big successful masala films sonam is doing old cinema type of stuff that hasn't really been made in quite while. Are her choices good? Or do you think the public has moved on from turning novels into movies and wants more masala - so because of that her movie choice doesnt work?

Is she getting any offers for masala movies? Not heard of any yet.

^^Has she not signed Dharama Productions next with Imran Khan, which is supposed to be a RomCom.

I really do not think she is avoiding masala movies.

Maya, as far as I know, none of the Sonam fans are actually believing the Mirza-Sahibaan article because like you said Mumbai-Mirror is not reliable.

And Sonam has three commercial movies lined up. Aisha which is inspired by EMMA not Clueless as like you to believe, Dharma's and another one that she would announce soon but talked a little about in Harper's.

Before anyone says how Sonam said she does movies with "subtense" but changed her point of view and is signing commercial movies now....She said recently in an interview that when someone asks her something, she'll answer something based on the current situation and her mood but when that situation arises, she might do the complete opposite because opinions changes and so do the way you see things.

And Sonam has stinky fans.....others are more concerned about her career than her fans.

P.S: Maya do you know a girl named Deepa? She sounds awfully a lot like you. I don't know if she actually copies or pastes your posts from here and post them at other places or you both share the same views.....
