Vasant
Panchami, sometimes referred to as Basant Panchami or Shree Panchami, is a Hindu festival
celebrating Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art. It is
celebrated every year on the fifth day of the Indian month Magh
(January-February), the first day of spring. Traditionally during this festival
children are taught to write their first words; brahmins are fed; ancestor
worship (Pitr-tarpan) is performed; the god of love Kamadeva is worshipped; and
most educational institutions organise special prayer for Saraswati.
The color yellow also plays an important role in this festival, in that people usually wear yellow garments, Saraswati is worshipped dressed in yellow, and yellow sweets are consumed within the families

Hi all,
Preview to June 1st epi:Padmini and Ratan Singh's marriage is declared for 'Vasant Panchami'. Khilji feels insulted that he was not invited for the swyamwar as he is not a Rajput king. Khilji laughs it off as it will not take too long before he becomes the Sultan of Delhi. In Chittod the King is restless about Allahuddin khilji's devastation in the state of Devgiri and has posed a major threat against all the Kshatriyas and Rajputs. In the woods, Malkhan Singh, one of the defeated Kings at the swayamwar is ready to teach a lesson to the Sinhali state. Ratan Singh calls for Saudamini and asks to meet Padmini at any cost before marriage even if it is against the rituals. In the middle of the night, Padmini and Saudamini rush towards the jungle. Both Padmini and Saudamini are about to enter the centre of the jungle when out of nowhere a couple of men rush in.Sounds like a lot is going to happen, not a lot of good though πCan someone also explain what 'Vasant Panchami' is?
