Mom pleads guilty of selling child, 5, into po*n

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio mother has pleaded guilty to trying to sell her 5-year-old daughter to child po*nographers in exchange for a used car and an apartment.

Jennifer Louis Richards faces a minimum of 20 years in prison after making the plea in a San Antonio federal court this week. The 25-year-old waitress was arrested in August along with her 40-year-old boyfriend, Sean Michael Block.

At a hearing last year, an FBI agent testified that Richards planned to expose the 5-year-old to sex acts to "see it's an enjoyable thing."

Investigators say the couple had been in contact with a purported buyer who turned out to be an FBI informant.

Block is accused of offering to sell a child and distributing child po*nography. He is set to stand trial in May. His attorney has said that Block took no part in what's alleged.

Father Accused Of Selling Daughter Takes Deal

Deal Could Shorten Jail Time To A Month

POSTED: 3:03 pm PDT April 6, 2009
UPDATED: 3:44 pm PDT April 6, 2009

GREENFIELD, Calif. -- A Greenfield father accused of selling his daughter for money, beer and other items accepted a plea bargain that could shorten his time in jail to a month.

District Attorney Christina Johnson said that Marcelino de Jesus Martinez, 36, pled guilty to one count of felony child endangerment charges.

The deal will have Martinez, who has been in prison since his arrest in January, serving an additional one to four months.

Martinez had originally refused a plea offer from prosecutors, and a trial was set to start Monday.

The father is accused of asking for $20,000, 100 cases of Corona beer, 50 cases of Modelo beer, several cases of meat, two cases of wine, 50 cases of Gatorade and 50 cases of soft drinks on a cardboard box in an attempt to arrange a marriage between his 14-year-old daughter to his 18-year-old neighbor.

Martinez faced up to 10 years in prison if his case would have gone to trial.

Sierra Vista man offers dad money for sex with daughter, 6

By Alexis Huicochea

Arizona Daily Star

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 04.22.2009

A man who solicited sexual favors from a 6-year-old girl in exchange for money has been arrested.

David Shipman of Sierra Vista has been booked into the Cochise County jail on suspicion of solicitation for child molestation.

The 23-year-old man was invited by the girl's father to have dinner with the family on March 15, said Sgt. Lawrence Boutte, a Sierra Vista Police Department spokesman.

It is unclear how the father knew Shipman, who is homeless.

Shipman reportedly made the offer to the girl's father, who "responded like any father would," Boutte said.

The father kicked Shipman out of the house and reported the incident to police, Boutte said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Shipman was taken into custody.

Shipman is not a registered sex offender, Boutte said. He may suffer from unspecified mental problems.

Unfortunately these crimes are not foreign to the US....as much as we all think people in different parts of the world are so much different than us, its things like this that bring us down to earth and make us all realize that as humans we all have serious and similar flaws!
