Morning time and Santu is doing puja. Standing on the balcony.. She prays to khodiyar ma to help her.. She tells that malik had put her in a duvidha, but Maa helped her overcome that. But now Meghna has put her in a bigger duvidha.. She asked her to talk to Kadambari ben, as a mother does.. But how can she do that? When kadambari doesn't even want to talk to her, what will she go and talk to her about. She prays to khodiyar ma to help her get out of this fix.
Baa is in her room, remembering Santu getting out of DM's room and is brooding about that. Bapuji comes there and asks her what she's thinking about, she tells nothing.. She sees Champakali going with a tray filled with jewelry and heavy sari's.. She asks champakali where she's taking them, champakali tells her that Malik gave it to her, to give it to malkin.. Baa gets irritated and asks her to go.. Bapuji sits next to her and asks her what the matter is now? Baa tells him that Santu is living a fantasy.. All this will be there only until Meghna and Rasik are there and after they leave she will have to go back outside the house.. Bapuji tells her that not only santu, even they are living in a fantasy.. They consider Dharamraj to be their son, when he's only their son-in-law.. That is a fantasy..Baa tells her that she cannot see someone else taking the place of her daughter.. Bapuji tells her that there are two sides to a coin, when they've accepted Dharamraj as their son, it is their duty to accept Bahu also.. Baa looks unsure..
Santu is folding up the newspaper in DM's room, when Champakali comes in with the tray and gives it to Santu.. She tells her that Malik has sent all of this for her.. She picks up a sari and tells her that the embroidery is pure gold. And picks up a heavy necklace and tells her that there are real diamonds in it.. Santu looks kind of pleased and spreads a sari out and puts everything in it and ties it up. She opens the cupboard and not finding any place in the cupboard, removes a red bundle from the cupboard and keeps her bundle in it.. She keeps the red bundle on the floor next to the cupboard.
DM comes into the room and opens the cupboard. On not finding the red bundle, he yells for Champakali and Shambhu and asks them where the bundle is. That was subhadra's and how dare anyone remove it from the cupboard? Santu owns up that it was her mistake and she dint know it was malkin's. She hands it back to a furious DM. DM wants to yell at her, but remembers that champakali and Shambho were in the room and asks them to leave. And then yells at her. He asks her with what right did she remove it from the cupboard.. He removes a hand mirror from the cupboard and tells her that it was subhadra, she brought it when she got married.. And the potli, has all of her yaad.. He tells her that the respect, the position she's getting now is only till Meghna and Rasik are staying there.. Once they leave, she'll be back out.. And he storms out.. Santu breaksdown, she sits on the floor by the bed and cries copiously..
In the village, Monghi takes Hiten to the well where he's supposed to take his bath.. Hiten is shocked that he'll have to have his bath in public, he tries to protest, but Monghi tells him that there is no other way.. He asks for soap, Monghi tells him there's no soap and he'll have to do with mitti if he wants any soap.. She goes away, Hiten is extremely conscious while he's removing his clothes.. He takes his clothes and hangs it on a bar nearby and takes bath with the cold water.. Monghi is watching this.. The villagers are watching Hiten having bath, and are chatting about Malik's poor son amongst themselves.. Hiten finishes his bath and goes to get his clotehs, when he finds them all dirtied.. He's dismayed and when Monghi comes asks what happened to his clothes.. Monghi tells him that he' d hund it near the well, it was obvious it would get dirty.. And when he tells her that he has no other clothes, hands him her nanaji's clothes. She goes around the village asking everyone to comes see hiten who's dressed in her nanaji's clothes.. Everyone comes and crowds around him, the pyjama is too short for him and the kurta is tight and itchy.. The villagers are all staring and laughing at the poor fellow..
Back at the mansion, its lunch time and Baa asks Meghna if the Prasad was there.. Meghna tells yes and that Santo bhabhi herself made it.. Baa looks annoyed as do Kadu and Taru.. DM is expressionless.. Meghna asks Santo to sit next to DM and feed him the Prasad, as the anushtan wont have any effect otherwise.. DM puts his foot down, tells meghna that the place next to him is empty as it is subhadra's place.. Subhadra still has a position in his life and the empty plate next to his symbolizes that. Subhadra's place cant be taken by anyone. Rasik tells him that Subhadra is his past. But Santo bhabhi is his present, his future, and he should let go of Subhadra. DM doesn't relent.Taru tells them that this has been carried out for a long time now, it has become a rasam.. Meghna tells him, that this is also a rasam, husband-wife should feed each other the Prasad. Santu doesn't budge. Meghna asks DM to tell her to sit. He doesn't say anything. Meghna herself, goes and brings santu to Subhadra's khali place. Next to DM. She makes her sit down and asks her to feed him the Prasad. Santu slowly does, and DM eats it. Next she asks him to feed her a bit, and he does. Taru looks on menacingly, baa hurt and Kadu disgusted. Santu remembers what DM had told her earlier, that all this izzat, maan is only till Meghna Rasik are at home.
Santu runs up the stairs to the balcony and is crying.. Champakali comes there and asks her why she's crying. Santu cant take it anymore, she tells her that everything is a lie, a dikhava.. The clothes the jewelry, the love everything is a dikhava, only till Meghna ben and Rasik are there.. She cant stand it anymore.. Its like she's trapped in a gilded cage, the clothes, the jewelry are imprisoning her.. She has become a bandini.. When she was in the store room, atleast she had the freedom to laugh and cry.. Here, she's told when to sit, when to stand, how to behave.. She's fed up of all this.. She could bear Malik's anger and his temper, because they were justified, but all this natak is just making him sad.. And her, she's dying every moment? And is crying.. champakali tells her to keep faith everything will become alright and leaves.. Santu is crying.. Episode ends..
Preview- Santu and Meghna call up DM in the office, they're on speaker phone.. Santu slowly tells hello, DM gets annoyed, tells her that she knows he doesn't like to be disturbed when he's in the office. Meghna speaks up and tells him that ya, that's a standard dialogue for any husband. DM asks meghna what she wants, in a nicer tone. Meghna tells Santo to speak up and that she's right by her side. Santo slowly tells him that Meghna has organized antakshari in the evening and asks him to please come home soon..
P.S- Wonderful episode.. Though i'm still mad at DM taking all his frustrations out on her, atleast Santo realised ki all that glitters is not gold.. I loved the last scene.. She was perfectly right when she said ki she's become a bandini.. LOVED that, and the part where she takes Subhi's place during lunch.. DM can love and miss Subhi all he wants, but keeping a plate next to him empty in her yaad is heights... I loved the fact that they showed her standing on the mat, before she sat on it.. Baa and taru must've got a proper heartburn... Even after bapuji told Baa soo much, she still was very cut up...
