Hey guys and gals,

I've been watching this show for a while now. It is really interesting and innovative. The concept and talent is definitely visible. The choreography displayed has got potential. I noticed Terrence Sir, a talented choreographer, displaying a lot of western dance styles. This show is an indian based, why don't we get to see more of traditional indian dance cultures? Remo and Geeta are doing a wonderful job displaying indian cultures and indian folk dance. I agree Remo and Geeta are are not at par with him when it comes to western dance style. But, if he has got such potential, why doesn't he go to Hollywood and display his talent in American shows like 'Dancing With the Stars' e.t.c.? All the top indian award functions, like 'Filmfare Awards', 'IIFA', to name a few, always have choreographers like Remo, Shamak, or Ganesh. That shows Terrence Sir's choreography doesn't sell in this industry. The fact that he is not called to perform in major functions or movies, shows that his brand of choreography, does not appeal to the masses. So, either we are praising him for nothing, or, the industry is missing out on something big.....?

P.S.- No offense to any of his fans. Just speaking my mind.

Well, I would like Terence to show some kind of indian folk or a good indian number, which I am sure is going to happen in the coming weeks. I don't think its right to say that his choreography doesn't sell or he should go to America. That's not the case. I think that Terence is totally dedicated to his dance and choreography and wants to keep it as an art not just choreographing some dance numbers for bollywood. Bollywood dance doesn't appeal to me much. Its not really dance in most of the cases. Terence demands full justice to his choreography which needs lots of dedication which most of the actors won't do. Thus, he doesn't want to do film choreography a lot. If you read his interviews, he has mentioned that he was quite shocked by the unprofessionalism in Bollywood. Most of the stars are not so dedicated to dance. When he choreographed for Naach, Antara Mali actually attended his workshop for 3 months. Not many stars will do that. I guess Terence demands hard work and dedication which most stars can keep up to. Thus , the difference between Terence, Remo, Geeta.

hmmmmmm ur statement is a bit confusing. juzz bcoz terrance does contemporary or western style dioes it mean he shud go to hollywood. now since u r talking in english shud u go to england. if v wear jeans does not mean v shud go to america. its not like tht. actually this show has given us an opportunity to know different kinds of dance forms. lets sit back n enjoy.

ps: the king is not a fan of any of the 3 choreographers.

Terence does not choreograph for movies and functions because he never got into it. He has his own dance institute and never had the exposure to movies. Many did not know about him before this show. But, now that he has got visibility and combined with his pleasing personality I am sure that he will direct dances in movies and award shows.

Just because it is Dance India Dance does not mean that we just have to show Indian dance forms. I think it's wonderful that in India we combine both Indian and Western dancing. If you watch a show like So you think you can dance, how many Indian acts do you see? Here there is a mix of both, infact thanks to Terrence we've even had the Chinese dance form brought in. I think each choreographer has his strength- Terrence is his excellent knowledge in western dance forms, Remo his specialty in hip hop and different Indian dances, and Geeta is good at classical dance.

from the choice u have given us, I would say that the industry is losing something big....and just imagine how boring this show would be without different forms of western dances or Terence. Terence is the life of this show, I always look forward to his toli every week. 👏👍🏼

I do want to see Terrence try more of an Indian style as well.....but the way he's showcased all these brilliant dance forms in DID so far has been amazing....his is the team who's performances I look forward to the most cuz there is always something unique to each piece of choreography he puts forth...those are the performances that I usually feel like watching again and again.

That aside, I do like the little fusions he's done of Bollywood with salsa....so it would be interesting to see what else he presents in the future.

dance india dance merely refers to the geographical location and the fact that it is aimed for indian viewers.
hence in a sense you are correct as indian people can naturally relate more to indian dancing.
however, thanks to globalisation, many indians are exposed to newer forms of dance, hence terence is not wrong in bringing in contemporary dance.
