8 months later...
Guneeta sorts through clothes trying to work out which one Chandni will look best in. Shashi brings in more and they both can't decide which one to choose. They reminisce on how quickly time has flown by.
Chandni is shown crawling in to Neeru's room where she talks sadly to Karan who tells her that he can't get a holiday for another three months. He promises to return home as soon as he can as Neeru starts to cry.
Kusum is getting ready in her room when Kishan arrives and talks romantically to her.
Giresh comes to Guneeta and shows her Chandni's fixed deposit. She smiles at him saying that he looks after everyone and asks him to get married and have children. He replies that all these are his children as well. He asks Guneeta to sign the papers but she asks him to sign instead as he is Chandni's eldest tauji.
Lalaji enters the house and looks happily around the decorations. Sameer asks why they are doing this and Madan replies that it's Chandni's Anprashan. Lalaji explains that from now on Chandni will eat food as opposed to just drinking milk and depending on what she touches, they will find out what she will become.
Neeru comes to Kusum and asks her where Chandni is. They both become tensed as they realise no-one has Chandni. They rush outside and ask the family members if they have seen her. Lalaji spots her sitting at the top of the staircase on the edge. He carefully climbs the staircase and picks her up before she can fall. Everyone is relieved.
Kusum comes forward to take her but Lalaji yells at her for beign irresponsible. A teary Kusum leaves for her room as Lalaji continues to berate the family for not being able to look after one child. Guneeta is upset and tells Lalaji that he had no right to break Kusums heart like that.
Kusum is crying in her room when Kishan comes to console her. She says that Lalaji was right and she is a bad mother. Lalaji enters with Chandni and apologises to Kusum and asks her to look after her nanhi pari and not let her come to any harm.
Anprashan pooja takes place. Chandni is placed in front of a table filled with things as everyone watches. She picks up the mithai and everyone cheers
