Feb 24 (Tues):
Continues from yesterday. Both Chandra's team and Loganathan's team are waiting for the officers to arrive. An SUV arrives and 3 men carrying files come out and take a seat. Oneof them asks if they are the only ones there for the auction and both says yes. Auction starts and both teams try to out bid each other and finally when Loganathan says 1 crore, Kannan opens his mouth to up him but Ranjini stops saying if they go any higher they will be at a loss. Chandra to wants to up but Ranjini tells her no. Finally Loganathan wins the bid and pays 20 Lakhs as deposit and one of the officer tells him to pay the rest of the money the next day and sign some documents. Loga is very happy and teases Chandra saying he has powdered her face with charcoal and it will take a long time for her to clean it up and leaves.
Chandra and team just seat there. Another car arrives and three men carrying files come out and take a seat at the same table and ask if they are the only ones bidding for the contract as usual. Chandra says yes and the officer tell her to pay the usual price of 50 lakhs and to sign the agreement. Kannan pays the money while Chandra happily signs the document. After the officers leave, Chandra praises Ranjini and all three leave. Rajagopal returns home and calls Saradha and tells her to pack up so that they both can leave the house. He is very angry that Ranjini is not agreeing to the proposal he brought. He says the broker had insulted him when informed of Ranjini's refusal. He says it is better to leave than to stay in the house and face insults. Saradha asks him to be patient and that she will talk to Ranjini.
Ranjini is in the kitchen listening to this commotion. Saradha goes to her and tells her to think about solving the problem now. She says if Ranjini doesn't agree her father will be very angry and will force to leave the house. She tells Ranjini to agree now and she will take care of the matter latter. Rajagopal waits in the living and Saradha goes to him and tells him Ranjini has agreed to the proposal. Rajagopal is not convinced and wants Ranjini to tell him herself. Saradha calls Ranjini and asks her to tell her father and Ranjini does, which makes Rajagopal very happy. Gopi's brother and SIL are just outside and hear Ranjini agree to the proposal and both are shocked. They turn to leave but Rajagopal who is leaving the house to go see the broker sees them and invite them in. Both reluctantly go in for just a minute and tells Rajagopal's family, they were just passing by and had stopped. Saradha offers them drinks but they decline saying they have something urgent to do.
On their way back in an auto, Mahes tells her husband about how they had hopes that Ranjini will agree to marry Gopi. She says she is surprised that Ranjini has agreed to her father's proposal. She asks her husband how can Ranjini not know about Gopi's feelings for her when he had been staying at their house. Then she concludes maybe Ranjini had compared Gopi's status and the new mapilai's status and had opted for the mapilai because he has a good job whereas Gopi is jobless. Her husband tells her not to jump to conclusions because the proposal was brought 2 days ago and only now Ranjini had agreed. He tells his wife that to him Ranjini does not look happy about this and feels she may have been forced. His wife is not agreable to this and says she has no heart to tell Gopi because he will beheart broken. Finally her husband tells her not to tell Gopi anything about this. He feels if Gopi finds out about this himself it would not be so bad.
Ranjini stands alone and thinks as usual. Next morning - Chandra is in her room upstairs looking at some files. The viewers are taken on a virtual tour of Chandra's house, from room to room, every nook and corner. Finally we see a closet with the keys in the keyhole. Ranjini is looking through some files in a room. The phone downstairs rings. Ranjini hears it and gets tensed. Upstairs, Chandra too hears it and waits for someone to pick it up. No one picks it up and she gets up and comes down the stairs. Ranjini hurries in her search and puts a CD in her handback. Screen freezes with both Ranjini and Chandra.
