I know, thats why I asked the question😉
Imagine Mr. Hopkins saying 'Sada kush raho beta. Baghvan thumari hamesha raksha kare'.

OMg Why do we make a big deal out of everything. An actor is not even supposed to feel elated and passionate abt the movie he was part of , however small or big. Danny Boyle in every speech took Anil Kapoor's name first to show his gratitude so, even if his role was small, it was significant and an important part of the movie.

At the SAG awards, it won for the best performance ensemble cast which means the award was given to the best team effort which included anil kapoor.

it would have been decided that anil would speak. Meryl streep who after winning so many awards , can react the way she did at the SAG as if she was winning the first one, then why not Anil Kapoor.

Those who watched the awards would have noticed that anil got a genuine applause from the crowd for his speech and were touched when he was emotionally moved.

If an Indian actor would have touched a legendary actor's feet, then he would have been praised but bcoz he happens to be a "gora", it was an insult. sorry to say, we are the one descriminating here based on color not them. Anthony hopkins is a legend, every actor has his idol and for anil kapoor to have met is idol would have been a sentimental moment and he acknowledged it by touching his feet, so ............. whats the big deal.

People just make a big deal and descriminated based on color. you urself think urselves as "inferior" thats why u get defensive when u touch the feet of a "gora" as some said.

From my point of view its got nothing to do with inferiority complex. I found it over the top. Its not a big deal anyways.

Agreed. I haven't seen The Reader yet so I can't judge, but I really don't like the movie Revolutionary Road as a whole. I liked American Beauty, but I haven't liked a Sam Mendes film since then. Unhappy married couples is the same theme he seems to hover over time and time again. The thing is the performances are good here, both Kate and Leo's, but other than that there isn't much for me to get behind. But I get the reasons for the nominations, it is an intense drama and the reputation of the director here.

I do not get what the problem is? Bollywood stars touch each others feet has in elders all the time when they go on stage to collect a award..so anil did this so what in that case no indian star should do that unless his role is big.

Its funny how some posts are edited when the offense has been done and caused arguements each time we go into that persons thread 😆 i can take a wild guess at who used the gora reason..

^Nina, I get your point about this. I have to agree with pragya0 and say it isn't an inferiority complex thing or anything like that but it shows his maturity level. If I met Anthony Hopkins, I'd without thinking ask him for an autograph. I met Kal Penn once, and I did not hesitate to ask for an autograph and picture. It would be nice if he just showed more tact and composure and all. It isn't the biggest deal in the world, just clarifying here. The touching his feet thing is fine if that would be the only thing he did, but sometimes I get the feeling he is always hovering for the limelight that Dev Patel rightly deserves.
