Elrond was the convener of the council....Maharaj Dharam here....And those present at the council had arrived in Rivendall by different paths and on separate errands yet they were ultimately concerned about the one thing that had united them.How fitting this is in the case of all of us....we came here separately..different paths,different reasons....yet we stand united here today as one...acknowledging,praising,criticizing and yup,drooling over the talents and skills of a supremely talented actor and a wonderful person like Vikrant.

As was said for the Council----

One Ring to rule them all,One Ring to find them,One Ring to bring them all,

And in the Darkness bind them.

Fate seemed to have brought the Council together....and its fate now too that brings all of us together.The council was meant to find light in the engulfing darkness...just like we try to find light and be positive about everything and keep our hopes high despite all odds.Elrond led to show that friendship and loyalty are more important than anything else...jus like Maharaj Dharam proved way back that friendship is more important than the social status of his bro and best buddy Veer.Maharaj Dharam shares many similarities with Lord Elrond....

"The might of Elrond is in wisdom, not in weapons".....it is said. Elrond was a master of wisdom and he sought to preserve the lore and history of his place...traditions and history of his kingdom mean a lot to Dharam.Elrond was strong and powerful,and he was also kind.His face was ageless though in it was written,the memory of many things...glad and sorrowful.His face was fair and he had dark hair and eyes,in them was a light like the light of stars.Venerable he seemed as a king crowned...yet hale as a warrior in the fullness of his strength.Just like Dharam,Elrond was a person of great compassion and nobility.Elrond suffers a more permanent separation from his brother who chose mortality when he could well have chosen immortality and Elrond weeps for him all along.Dharam has also suffered separation from Veer with his brother choosing hardship and Dharam weeps for him.

As for the council,whether those who attended were summoned or they came of their own accord...the council represents the way in which the Elrond was open to all races.And we here are ready with open arms to welcome anyone into our "star council".... anytime.

At the end of the age...this was said for Elrond....

" Elrond, in the fair valley of Rivendall,

Upon whose house the stars of Heaven most brightly shone"
