Hey Guyz!!
I reckon the original mahabharat series is way better. The old one look more original because of its strong hindi and its detailed portrayal of each events the new one in my opinion is too *flashy* and more of just entertainment rather than portraying india's history!!
What do you guyz think??

Another thing thats annoying is how they are copying the costumes from the english movie 300!! which was a terrific movie. The costumes and design were wayy better in the original B.R. Chopra Series

wht circumstances r u talking abt. can u elaborate. the only difference is now mahabharat is being buthered by a soap queen who is hell bent on making mahabharat a saas-bahu saga.

Well the butchering part is your perspective on it ..
The circumstances that I am taking about are concerned with the audience which was watching it that time - the audience which had only Doordarshan to watch and only one Mahabharata to watch .. they had no choices .. and obviously they are emotionally attached to the first version they saw ..

But the circumstances TODAY are that Ekta knows that she's catering to people who will not stick to one channel for more than a minute if they are bored.. and that's why she's set the tempo up right from the first episode. Agreed the actors did not leave any impact in the first episode, but atleast the people (the target audience) - the youngies like myself are not getting bored by the excessive attention to detail/drag in pace!

do u mean 2 say only "youngies" watch this show. tv is a medium which the whole family watches. especially the women. if shown properly mahabharat wil always b watched. there is a major disconnect b/w the characters n audience. the king watched BRC's mahabharat as a kid. he used 2 not go 2 play cricket but stayed glued 2 the tv. it was in so uch detail n beautifully written. so u cant give an excuse tht people wil ot c. most of us r deeply connected wid the epic n wil watch even 2day.
