Bharath tries to call Jayanthi and says the line is busy. Sindha tells Bharath to try again while she goes in and see to the guests. The ladies start the function. Suddenly Jayanthi comes and does the sangyam and puts sandalwood paste on Mangai. Mangai tells her to stop. Suddenly Jayanthi disappears and Mangai realises it is her imagination. Her friends asks her what is wrong and Mangai says nothing. Sindha tells the ladies to do aarti if the sangyam is over as Jayanthi would not be coming. The ladies do aarti and Mangai is sad. After the function Mangai sits in the room with her friend Deepa. She suddenly has pains and Bharat tells Mangai he will take her to the hospital in town. Thirru and Kasthuri are discussing about Kavya with a doctor. Doctor tells them it is better to do a heart transplant immediately as it will cause more problem later. Thiru tells about Kavya being in the list seeking donors. Doctor tells them about some other children who had heart transplant. Kasthuri tells doctor to keep Kavya in the hospital if more treatments are needed but doctor tells them they can take her home.

Vishu is pacing his front yard and tells his sister he feels bad that Kavya fell ill while playing with him.. Vasugi tells Vishu it is not his fault as Kavya is weak. She assures him Kavya will be alright. Thiru, Kasthuri and Kavya return. Vishu asks Kasthuri about Kavya and Kasthuri tells him about their discussion with the doctor and goes in.

Ram is sitting under the tree shaking legs. Constable comes with two inmates and shows Ram to them and says Madam Radha paid them to bash him up. Constable tell them to beat Ram up and break his legs. One of the inmate sits dow while his friend goes with a few other inmates and tells Ram to massage his leader's legs. Ram says they don't know who they are talking to and explains he is an MD of a repurable Computer Firm. The men laugh at him and says that doesn;t mean anuthing when he has come in after murdering his wife. Ram looks at them and asks if they are rowdies. The men say they are not rowdies but big time hitman. The pull Ram and a fight break out. The man then beat Ram with logs and run away. Ram is hurt and cries out in pain. Constable watches this with a smile and after a few minutes go to Ram and ask what happened. Ram tells them some guys beat him up. Constable calls some of the inmate to come help. Ram's cell mate also comes there and helps to take Ram inside. After treatment, his cell mate takes him in the cell. Constable comes and asks if Ram knows the men and if there was any animosity before. Ram says he never saw them before. Constable tells Ram he will send the doctor in to check on him and if asked Ram is to tell him he hurt himself while working and leaves. Ram;s cell mate laughs. Ram asks why andhe says they were put in jail for committing crime but inside the jail there are more crimes. Ram asks him to tell about himself. His mate says something about crimes done by big man and people like him and their punishment. THODARUM

Thiru gets ready leave for Bangalore. Tells Kasthuri to keep her cell on at all times as the doctor may with news about possible donor. Kasthuri asks if she can go visit her sisters and Thiru tell she doesn't need his permission. Kasthuri tells him to return soon. Thiru takes leave. Kasthuri tells her father she wants to visit Thanam and he says ok. Kasthuri goes to Thanam's house. Thanam's MIL sees her and asks who she is. Kasthuri explains about herself. Megala is surprised at the changes and invites her in. After exchanging pleanstries, Kasthuri asks for Thanam.

Megala grops the bombshell - Thanam is no longer living there and has separated Shiva. Megala further tells Thanam had left 2 months ago. Kasthuri asks why didn't Megala stop her. Megala says Thanam never respected her a MIL and did not listen to her. Megala talks about Shiva getting divorce papers ready and then she will have to get him married again. Kasthuri tells Megala not to be hasty in getting Shiva remarried, promises to talk to Thanam and leaves.

Mangai in her room resting and tells her husband he must be tired after running around the whole day. She tells him to rest because he would need the energy to do more running around and work after baby is born. Bharath tells her he can handle it and it is a pleasure. Sindha comes there with a container and tells Bharath it contains some food for Jayanthi and for him to take when he goes to visit her the next day. Mangai too gives him some bangles. Bharath tells Mangai to rest and goes to eat dinner.

Ganesh visits Ram in jail. He is shocked to see Ram all beaten up and limping and asks what happened. Ram lies saying he fell while doing some work. Ganesh tells him this is all due to his own doing. Ram says no one is even trying to get him out of jail. Ganesh says it is not so and even now Kasthuri feels sad for him and Jothi. Ram refuses to believe and says why should she - she is happily married now and would have no time to think about him. Ram asks Ganesh why isn't he trying to get him out of jail. Ganesh says he had met with an attorney but he said it is not possible to get Ram out on bail before 3 months are up and only if the police had not filed their charge file. Ram tells Ganesh he is hurting and leaves.

Kasthuri goes to the hospital Thanam works at and meets her. Thanam is happy to see her and spins a story about being away on her wedding day. Thanam promises to come see her soon. Kasthuri tells her to come with her husband. Thanam says Shiva is not in town and will come with her son. Thanam says her husband is out of town for some time. Kasthuri says she knows the true story as she had just gone to her MIL's house and spoken to her. Thanam is shocked. THODARUM.

Bharath takes Mangai to another waiting area. Mangai passes and Jayanthi comes out. Both sisters miss each other. Bharath tells Mangai to wait while he goes out a minute to check if the doctor is coming. Bharath goes out to see Jayanthi, her landlady and friend leave . Bharath heaves a sogn of relieve.

Thanam, Siva, thei son and Vasugi attai visit Kasthuri and Kavya. Thiru comes down and is introduce to the visitors. After some greeting and advice, Thiru tells them they will go out to eat and leaves promising to return in time for lunch. Bharath and Jayanthi meet and Jayanthi says she would have died if Mangai saw her. Bharath chides her for talking like that and tells her she should now live for her child.

Thanam and Kasthuri talk more about their family and telsl her to give a granchild for their father. Kasthuri just keeps quiet. Attai comes there and takes Thanam out and tells her that both Kashturi and her husband have not consumated their marriage and for her not to talk to Kasthuri about children. And that both Thiru and Kashturi have decided not to consumate their marriage until Kavya is cured. Thanam tells her attai she will talk to Kasthuri about this.

Jayanthi's landlady is cleaning her pooja room. Her daughter tells her to stop as she willtake care of it. Mother tells daughter the prospective groom and family will be coming soon to see her and she should not be doing this work. Jayanthi arrives and tells her that she does not wnat to be in the house when the people come so as not to create problems and leave.

Kasthuri praying. Thanam comes there and starts talking about her so called 'problem'. Kasthuri assures her that is not a problem at all but a mutual agreement between her and Thiru. Thanam is afraid that Thiru might leave Kasthuri like Ram did. Kasthuri tells Thanam Thiru is very different from Ram. Both sisters leave the pooja room happily. THODARUM.

The prospective bride is sitting with her friends. Mother asks her to go get some bajees for the friends while waithing for the maapilai's arrival. Bharath and his friend comes in and asks where Jayanthi is. He is told Jayanthi went to the temple and will only be back after the entourage had left. Jayanthi praying at the temple. She prays that her friend gets a good maapilai and everything goes smoothly.

Maapilai and his family arrive and guess who? Of course it is Jayanthi's boyfriend thiagu. No one knows because they have not seen Thiagu before. Thiagu and family are welcomed into the house. Bharath asks where he works. Thiagu says something about working in a computer firm in coonur and is trying to open his pwn company. Bharath asks if he will take his wife back with him but Thiagu says o, he will move to Chennai. Thiagu's mother asks if he likes the girl. Thiagu thinks about Jayanthi and is sad. Thiagu says ok and his mother goes to talk to the girl (Still can't remember her name). Finally they agree to the alliance and everyone is happy. Jayanthi sits in the temple thinking.

Thiru tells Kasthuri he has to go out and she tells them her sister's family and attaia re leaving that evening. Thiru promises to come home early. Kasthuri asks if she can buy them some gifts and Thiru telsl her to go ahead and she doesn't need to ask his permission. Kasthuri tells about how her vasugi attai had life like a recluse since her husband's demise at an early age. Thiru tells her that is wrong and doesn't want Kasthuri to be like that should anything happen to him. Kasthuri becomes upset but Thiru tells her life has to go on although it is hard and wants her to continue with her duties as before and to be independent. He finally tells her not to worry too much and leaves saying he will be back soon. THODARUM.
