Police station. The Inspector pinni pedal edukking Lakshmi kanth[LK] aides. Ruthlessly beating them. Thulasi/ Deepa petrified, Thulasi crying relentlessly , Anand paridaba look viding at them. Frightened LK standing in a corner with folded hands. The inspector comes out sweating profusely. Gives a nasty look at the girls , Anand winces, the girls tremble. Inspector then goes to LK , Offers him a seat , gives him a friendly smile ,praises his special ability to earn more than highly educated people. Lk's smile widens relief is shown on his face [ inspectorai madakkidalamnu mind maths podarar ].Inspector starts his interrogation.... What is your business ? LK : Running a computer company .Insp: Pointing Deepa/ Thulasi , who are these girls ? LK: my relatives. Insp gives a whack & ask him to tell in Tamil where up on LK says my sondhakara pongal.Shock on the face of thulasi & Deepa . Inspector becons the girls to confirm LK's statement. Deepa denies knowing him before , met him for the first time just few minutes before the police arrived. They were duped by LK's chela promising to get education loan. Inspector continues his interrogation with LK.. who all are there in your house? LK : my mom, wife , son ,& daughter .....Insp: How old is your daughter ? LK : 16 years , studying in 10^th STD. Inspector turns to Anand & orders to bring his daughter to the station. LK panics & pleads vendam sir vendam. Inspector gives him a resounding kick .

Commercial break

Starts with Inspector's kick...shouts at LK ,if at your age you need 12^th STD. girls why not i much younger to you go after your 10thSTD. girl? Asks again Anand to go & fetch the girl. LK frantically pleads , gets another slap, insp. Shouts you want your daughter to be pure & with karpu but unmindful of other girls. Turns to Anand & orders to call the girl's parents to the Station. Both the girls plead not to inform the house. Deepa tells ,they are from decent family, more interested in studies, got duped by the assurance of financial help , Thulasi is school topper , very keen on higher education, they landed in the trap unknowingly. Hearing this insp. expression slightly changes .Sarcastically asks LK ...ennaya ivanga padikkanu kettadhu un kadhila padukkanu vizhundada?. But the insp. doesn't change his stand on informing the girl's family. Anand for his part chides them for being so naive ,informs them about LK's nefarious activities, request the Insp. not to file FIR & spoil their future . Inspector unmoved says it is Kaval Nilayam & not Karunai Illam .

Patti waiting for the girls worried about their delay. MM comes there like a sunami. Sees patti & shouts at her for spoiling Thulasi's mind, asks for Thulasi . shouts that Patti & Thulasi are responsible for TA's to visit their house with marriage proposal. Patti is happy to hear the news, requests MM to accept the proposal , Thulasi is not keen to marry Vel. She wants to study & take care of her life Blames MM/ Padm for spoiling the veedu thedi vandha golden opportunity .Blurts out that Thulasi has gone with Deepa to meet a man who has promised them loan for their studies. MM's anger rises hearing the name of Deepa , scolds patti for having sent Thulasi with her who was responsible for spoiling Thulasi's nalla vazhkai. At this time he gets a call from the police station ,leaves in a huff abusing Thulasi with patti running after him asking for the details.

Police station. Deepa's mother arrives first. After making lot of sarcastic comments inspector allows her to take Deepa home. Deepa's mom now vents all her anger at Deepa for taking all wrong steps which landed her dad in jail & now self in a similar situation. Deepa requests mom to plead for the release of Thulasi also. Her mother not in favour of that, feels everything has happened because of Thulasi , doesn't want to help her any more. Deepa adamant not to go without Thulasi . Deepa's mom uses her Brahmasthram... in that case when you come home you will see only my dead body.

A man visits TA's bank & meets the manager. Introduces himself ....Veeraraghavan [VR] ....having Granite business...has come on a personal visit ....representing his close friend whose only daughter's alliance is going to be fixed with TA... has come on his behalf to collect more information about TA , his nature , character etc. etc. Manager starts singing TA praise....hard to find such a nice boy in these days, very helpful , goes overboard , no bad habits, the only shortcoming is talks too much...oru vaarthai pesa vendiya idathil 9 vaarthai pesuvan [ sothu inherited from his mom ], his friend would indeed be lucky to get him as his son in law. Satisfied VR takes leave assuring to invite the manager for the wedding . Outside VR meets the peon, takes him aside to ascertain his opinion about TA. Now peon's turn to sing TA praise....kai sutham , kaal sutham , vaai sutham everything suthamo sutham , know not the spelling of bribe. Habba VR is fully satisfied , leaves with a smiling face.

TA arrives. Meets the manager. Manager greets him with the sarcastic remark that he can count on TA 's help while constructing his house for having granite floors. TA is thiru thiru ...manager chides him for withholding the good news about his marriage with a granite businessman's daughter. Advice session begins...TA should strike the iron while it is hot, better to accept the alliance that knocks at his door than going after the one which he likes. Irritated TA informs his disinterest in marriage & went for ponnu paakum vaibhavam solely to appease his mom. Insists on knowing the News leaker where upon manager informs about VR who came to enquire about him. Angry TA informs the manager that VR has lied to him as the girl's father's friend . He is actually the girl's father. TA questions VR's audacity to enquire about him while he himself is a big liar. TA leaves the room angrily vowing to take up the matter with his mom .

Varadarajan drives home his vehicle. Informs the family about the release of the vehicle, FC to be issued shortly, seth's assurance for the money. All made possible by Vel who kept his promise. All are happy, now drops the bombshell..decided to send Deepa to Coimbatore to pursue her higher studies...it is the best option available for her , made this decision keeping Deepa's wellbeing in mind. Vel is not the person to easily forget & forgive Deepa's doings , will surely try to avenge her. So the best thing for her is to leave the city & come back after 4 years by which time everything would have mellowed down. Deepa is shocked & upset...refuses to go leaving her parents & siblings, forgo studies. Her mom gets angry , volley of words , lists the sufferings Varada had undergone for her sake , spill out the news about Varada falling at Tilaka's feet for her sake. The emotional blackmail works & Deepa bows to her dad's wish .
