Paul Wesley Says Stefans Love For Elena Will Always Exist Spo

The Season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries is quickly approaching and TVD fans everywhere are on the edge of their seats waiting to see what will happen to our favorite Mystic Falls residents. Perhaps the storyline that needs addressing the most is of on-screen vamp Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), who is currently locked in a safe at the bottom of a quarry.

Paul recently spoke to TV Guide about Stefan's former flame Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who is currently madly in love with Stefan's bro Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Twisty love triangles, FTW!

"That love has to always exist," Paul teased. Be still our beating hearts " Stelena lives!

But how are they going to keep the love triangle going with Elena and Damon are living lustfully ever after? The news site says to keep watch for an "early-season reveal that suggests that Elena and Stefan will forever be linked."

Interesting. We wonder if it has to do with both of them being the only two characters who currently have doppelgangers! Maybe there's more to that story than it seems.
