In today's jaw-dropping news, The Vampire Diaries' Zach Roerig is seeking custody of his daughter, according to TMZ.
In news that will likely shock many fans of The Vampire Diaries, Zach — aka, Mystic Falls' mild-mannered human Matt Donovan — has a two-year old. The girl's mother, Alana Turner, was recently sentenced to federal prison, though TMZ doesn't say why, other than she's been arrested three times for "various crimes."
Zach filed in a Georgia court to gain custody of the child, who was born in January 2011. The actor is also requested child support from Turner.
It's not clear if Zach had custody of his daughter at any time previously, but one thing is obvious — he's pretty good at keeping his private life on the down low! In May 2012, he split with co-star Candice Accola (Caroline), and no one was even sure they were dating.
For the last few weeks, Zach has been in Virginia filming Field of Lost Shoes, a Civil War movie starring David Arquette, Lauren Holly, and Tom Skerritt.
