Updated Ian writes a poem for Nina

Nina Dobrev has certainly been having a whale of a time with girl pal Julianne Hough, who she was spotted enjoying a mini break with last week in Miami ' but it seems her Vampire Diaries beau Ian Somerhalder has been having just as much fun during his trip to China.

The hunky TV star recently shared news with his followers that he would be heading on whirlwind trip ' minus his squeeze Nina - following the finale of season four of The Vampire Diaries.

"Packing-off to China!See you soon!ThenNY,Spain,Canada,Russia Hungary, Italy,France,Brussels, England(for movie)then back to NY then ATL 4TVD," the Hollywood star tweeted last week.

Clearly keeping himself distracted from his temporary separation from Nina, the 34-year-old has been busy travelling to four cities in just four days and gushed that he was now in love with China. Let's hope there are no future plans to relocate there for the handsome star.

He wrote earlier today: "Wow-China...Whirlwind...4cities in 4days after wrapping Vampire Diaries at 4AM. In love w/the people here-thank you for the love!!"

Meanwhile on-an-off screen lover Nina cut a glum figure as she returned to Los Angeles with Safe Haven star Julianne after topping up their tams in Florida.

Nina tweeted ahead of their girly holiday: "10 months of shooting... Time to play! Fun in the sun with my girls @juliannehough and @RiawnaCapri :)"

Could Ian Somerhalder be missing his The Vampire Diaries co-star and girlfriend Nina Dobrev? Well, he could be going by the romantic poem he posted on his Twitter page earlier today.

The actor who has been out of the country since wrapping up filming for the show's fourth season, posted the romantic poem with the caption: "Read this..."

Featuring lines speaking of finding the right person, lines from the poem, by Anais Nin read: "Something changes the moment you decide you've found a person you are ready to reveal parts of your soul to.

"As if you are whispering 'finally' and your eyes fill with light and spontaneity", another line read.

Ian's post comes after the rumour mill churned out claims that he had split up with his TVD co-star who plays Elena. However a dismissal from the couple's rep and photos of them holding each others hands whilst walking through an airport soon put an end to the claims they were heading for splitsville.

Meanwhile, whilst all might be fine and dandy on the romance front, Ian could be set for a busy future following the constant speculation that he will play the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the hit mummy po*n book, Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Recalling how the speculation over him taking on the role of Christian Grey has had an effect on how people have seen him, in particular one woman. Talking to the AP, Ian recalled:

"You could see her blushing for a second. She saw that I saw the book, and I just smiled at her and said, "It's a good read, huh?" And she goes, 'This so embarrassing.'

"Everybody's up for this role. But in her mind, just from seeing media, I was that guy."
