Chapter 32
Thapki did not understand the scene instantly. It was after few secs of standing in the door that she saw Bihaan lying on the floor. She ran inside the bathroom and took Bihaan's name three to four times but he did not respond. She worriedly bent over his body and searched for his face. Her eyes can now see in the dark. She held his head and put it in her lap. His body was cold. She got worried and patted her face few times. He did not open his eyes. She stood up and looked around. She saw the running tap and walked towards it. She filled some water in her palm and came back to where Bihaan was lying on the floor. She poured that water on Bihaan's face and shook his body. Finally Bihaan opened his eyes but the look on his face was of complete shock. She with his help made him stand and brought him out. She put his arm over her shoulder and moved him slowly towards the bedroom. She made him lie on the bed and started walking out. Bihaan stopped her from walking out.
Bihaan: "Please don't leave me"
Thapki: "I am going outside to bring a candle and..."
Bihaan: "Please"
There was so much pain in his eyes that she forgot abt her own pain few minutes ago. She nodded and returned back and sat down on the other side of the bed. Thapki wanted to ask him abt the bathroom scene but he did not seem in a condition to talk abt it. He was lying there on the bed, wet and shivering. Thapki covered his body with one of the comforter. He silently looked at her with thanking eyes and shut his eyes once again.

Bihaan opened his eyes and looked around. Things were finally bright as it was day time. He looked around but could not find Thapki. He recalled the yesterday's night incident and it made him very uncomfortable. He knew Thapki would inquire him about last night but he had nthg to tell her. He got up from his place and walked out. He saw Thapki working in the small kitchen of the house. He walked inside. Thapki had her back towards him. Thapki had taken shower and her hair were open. Fresh drops of water were falling down her hair. Bihaan could not stop himself from admiring her beautiful and long hair. Hearing the foot steps, she turned back.
Thapki: "Oh Bihaan so finally u r awake. Y don't u go and freshen up. I will prepare breakfast for u then"
Bihaan: "Ummm"
Thapki: "Don't worry I have fixed the door. U can now open it from inside"
Bihaan nodded and left. He walked towards the washroom. His clothes from yesterday were still there on the towel rod. He took a deep breath and walked in. He noticed that Thapki had tied a rope in the place where the handle should have been. He finally shut the door and started taking bath.
When he came out, the aroma of freshly made breakfast welcomed him. Thapki had found out a chair and a wooden table and had placed them in the veranda. He walked towards it and found his breakfast on the table. Thapki was in the bedroom probably changing bed sheets. He inquired abt her breakfast. She told him that she have already had it.
Bihaan felt much better after having his breakfast. Thapki also seemed to have finished her work.
Bihaan: "If u r free then lets go and visit ur friends' place as we have to go back to PN tomorrow"
Thapki (with a thoughtful face): "Is it really that important for u?"
Bihaan: "Well they r ur friends and I want u to meet them. Also u specially mentioned them to Dadi so u must meet them"
Thapki who wanted to refuse, decided otherwise thinking abt Bihaan's suffering from last night. She got up and tied her hair and asked Bihaan to follow. The two left Thapki's house and started walking towards Thapki's friends' places.
Bihaan: "Do they live near by?"
Thapki: "Yes. Very near by"
Bihaan: "Were they ur school fellows?"
Thapki (with a smile): "My school fellows? I did not go to a school... My mother had my schooling at home"
Bihaan: "Oh... Then how do u know them?"
Thapki: "Coz I used to visit them frequently with my mom"
Before Bihaan could ask any more questions, they reached a house, which had a big boundary wall. Animals voices could easily be heard coming from inside. Thapki walked inside and Bihaan followed.
It did not take a lot of time for Bihaan to c that this house had a lot of animals in the back area. He looked at many cows, buffaloes and even goats. Thapki was happily chatting with an old man. Before Bihaan could reach them, he saw Thapki running towards a buffalo and hugging her with love. The animal seemed to know her as it responded with love. After feeding some food to the buffalo, Thapki ran towards a relatively small goat and held it in her arms. She was looking happy and excited just like a small child. Bihaan who was not v fond of animals could not stop staring at Thapki. Her giggles and happiness brought a smile on his own face. Thapki finally realised that Bihaan was also with her. She walked towards Bihaan holding the goat in her arms.
Thapki: "U wanted to meet my friends na... Here they are... Meet my cutoo Ram Pyaari and there she is Gulabo"
She pointed her finger towards the buffalo who was chewing on its food looking at them.
Bihaan: "R these ur friends??? I mean these animals??"
Thapki: "Y r u saying so? Animals r human's best friends. They love us unconditionally"
Bihaan: "okay okay plz do not mind... I did not mean it that way"
Thapki: "Okay then hold Ram Pyaari"
Without waiting for his reply, Thapki forced Ram Pyaari in his arms and walked back towards Gulabo. Bihaan held Ram Pyaari with a shocked face.
Thapki once again went back to Gulabo and started patting her. Meanwhile Bihaan tried to control Ram Pyaari who was finally struggling to escape from his embrace. Not knowing wat to do, Bihaan walked towards Thapki but carefully so that he does not step in some dung.
Thapki saw Bihaan coming towards her. She could not stop her laugh noticing his cat walk. Bihaan with a grumpy face reached Thapki and handed Ram Pyaari to her.
Bihaan: "Can we leave now... after all u n ur friends had ur long awaited reunion"
Thapki: "But u haven't met Gulabo na... Come meet her"
Thapki held his hand and walked closer to Gulabo. Bihaan who was scared of animals felt like running from there. Gulabo turned her face and gave that "touch me not" look to him.
Thapki: "Arre baba come na. She will not bite"
Thapki held his hand and touched Gulabo. Guloba moved a little.
Bihaan (begging): "Plz Thapki. Let's go"
Thapki: "OMG Bihaan r u scared of Gulabo?"
Bihaan: "No I am nnn not. Plz can we leave now"
Thapki looked at his face and seeing the horrifying expression on his face, decided to leave.
Before they could leave, the old man came with two steel glasses.
Thapki: "Kaka wat was the need for all this"
Old Man: "U have come to my place for the first time with ur husband... How could I let u leave without having anything"
After having warm milk, the two left for their place.

On their way back to Thapki's place...
Bihaan: "I still can't believe that these were Gulabo and Ram Pyaari..."
Thapki: "Wat did u think they were??? Some young pretty girls??"
Bihaan (teasingly): "Exactly... I was expecting some young and smart girls...Such a disappointment"
Thapki got angry and started to walk fast. Bihaan noticed that and he increased his pace too.
Thapki opened the door and walked in. Bihaan followed and locked the door.
Bihaan: "Arre baba I was joking"
Thapki did not reply and walked into the room. Bihaan followed.
Thapki saw Bihaan coming into the room so she decided to leave. Bihaan held her hand and stopped her from moving out.
Thapki: "Leave my hand"
Bihaan: "Y"
Thapki: "Coz I m saying so"
Bihaan held her hand for few secs but then let her go. Thapki looked at him with teary eyes and went outside. Bihaan again followed.
Bihaan: "Wat is wrong with u... I am noticing this changed behaviour since the start of this trip. If it is coz of that night then I am sorry for that... But if there is more to it then plz share it with me"
Thapki had entered the kitchen and did not reply. Bihaan stood in the door and took Thapki's name but she did not reply. He got angry and walked towards Thapki and held her by her shoulders and shook her. Her dupatta fell on the floor and his shaking opened two of her shirt's buttons. He tried to make her face him but she struggled. He finally pulled her face towards him and saw her crying. He did not understand her reason of crying but he looked at her crying eyes for a minute or so.
Bihaan eyes followed her tears who were falling down her face. His eyes wandered on her neck and then followed the strings of her mangalsutar. Her opened buttons had revealed some of her forbidden body part. Her soft skin distracted him for few secs. But then he realised that the situation was different.
He held her tightly and brought her into the bedroom. He made her sit on the bed and made her drink water from the glass on the side table. Thapki took the glass and took few sips.
After few minutes, she was back to normal.
Bihaan: "Tell me truth... Wat is bothering u? I know sthg is on ur mind but keeping it that way will not do u any gud"
Thapki (taking a deep breath): "I will tell u wat is bothering me but I want u to tell me wat u have been trying to tell me since many days"
Bihaan: "R u sure Thapki? I mean it does not seem to be a gud time for that"
Thapki: "Plz Bihaan... I beg u... I don't want to have another emotional break down in front of u so plz say it... I promise I will not cry or do any stupid thing"
Bihaan (sitting next to her and holding her hand): "Ok listen Thapki... U r sick... And u need treatment..."
Bihaan took a pause and looked at Thapki who was looking at him as if she has not heard wat he said...
Thapki: "Oh... I knew it already...So how many days I have left now"
