Personally, I thought that he would've been sleeping on the bed and seen constantly caressing or even smelling it to be reminded off his memories of Twinkle. Seeing him on the couch was a total shocker to me.

However, I really admire how he respects her personal space even its his bed, his bedroom his house

I didn't know what to expect from that scene but I liked the way it played out. It showed that he hadn't erased all hopes of her ever returning. The bed was and is her space and to respect her space like that, to me, shows affection and respect. If all that could be translated or transferred to the other parts of his brain that would be amazing!
