This song was played in TEI when Twinkle is leaving the house. And it was an excellent pick because it speaks of an incomplete story between two people. Twinkle and Kunj have an incomplete story because they came so close to confessing when things went to awry in literally a matter of hours. Additonally, it was sang from the female POV and it works so well because at the moment Twinkle is more rational. She is feeling more pain, in a way, because while she is dealing with the family crisis she is dealing with accusations, her husband;s silence, rejections and anger.
Paas Aaye... Dooriyaan Phir Bhi Kam Na Hui
You came close to me, still the distances (between us) didn't eradicate
Ek Adhuri... Si Hamari Kahani Rahi...
Our (love)story remained incomplete
Aasmaan Ko Zameen, Ye Zaroori Nahi, Jaa Mile... Jaa Mile...
It's not necessary that the Sky always gets to meet the Earth
Ishq Saccha Wahi, Jisko Milti Nahi Manzilein... Manzilein...
True love is that love which doesn't reach its destination
I absolutely love the first line. It is so perfect for Twinkle and Kunj. They did close but the distances between them did not eradicate. While they do have feelings for each other and came close, they did not address the blatant issues plaguing their relationship such as trust, communication, respect. On top of all that Usha pulled her melodramatic act and forcing Twinkle to leave preventing any chance of them resolving their issues. I think the next line with the Sky and Earth correlates to how Twinkle has her head in the clouds and Kunj is more grounded. The song insinuates the Sky and Earth have an interconnected relation yet they are not able to meet. Kunj and Twinkle, similarly, share a deep bond, one tried by life and death multiple times, so one would imagine they would have a close relationship. Yet the poignant tone of that song shows that is not necessary. The last line reminds me of the quote by Irving Stone that "There's no love without pain.". One of the biggest pains can be not be the with the one you love. Yet when you suffer that pain for noble reasons, such as the well being of your family, your love is elevated to another standard. It takes two string and truly in love people to take a step back and realize that while they love each other, they're family is vital too. Kunj and Twinkle are doing such that. Furthermore, some of the greatest love stories are ones of love that could never be, that could not reach it's destination.
Rang Thhe, Noor Tha, Jab Kareeb Tu Tha
There were colours, there was a glow, when You were besides me
Ek Jannat Sa Tha, Yeh Jahaan...
This world was like heaven
Waqt Ki Ret Pe, Kuch Mere Naam Sa
On the sands of time, something which seemed like my name
Likh Ke Chhod Gaya, Tu Kahaan...
You wrote it and then disappeared leaving me behind
I think the first line can connect to just how exuberant both Kunj and Twinkle were during their role play and towards the confession date. Twinkle had returned to her pre-shaadi Twinkle and Kunj was so happy that even his dad noticed. Everything was great for them, it was like heaven. However, the last two lines of this stanza indicate a change to rougher times. It is applicable to both Twinkle and Kunj. For Twinkle, I imagine the scene with the ring falling. Kunj was so close to confessing, giving her a ring and then suddenly a phone call and he runs without a look back. And now she is dealing with all these accusations and she expects Kunj to support her yet he stays silent. For Kunj, it works similarly that he had gotten so close to Twinkle, he was starting to trust her implicitly and then he finds out about this. To him, by dealing with it alone, she dropped their team hence he feels alone. The usage of the phrase sands of time is crucial because it shows how temporary things are. Even Kunj said it. Things were surreal for him and Twinkle but within a blink of a second it changed. I think, overall, that is a big theme in Kunj and Twinkle's relationship- the temporariness. They NEED tow work on their trust and communication because things are excellent for them until an issue as such arises. No matter how good the good days are, it's how the bad days are dealt with that counts.
Khushbuon Se Teri, Yunhi Takra Gaye...
I collided with Your scent don't know how
Chalte Chalte, Dekho Na, Hum Kahaan Aa Gaye...
Look while walking how far I've come
Jannatein Agar Yahin, Tu Dikhe Kyon Nahin
If this is heaven, then why can't I see/find You anyplace
Chaand Suraj Sabhi, Hai Yahaan...
The Moon and the Sun are all here
Intezaar Tera, Sadiyon Se Kar Raha
I've been waiting for You since decades
Pyaasi Baithi Hai Kab Se Yahaan...
It (the story) is thirsty (incomplete) since so long
I think the first line addresses how the closeness between the two was gradual. For Kunj, before he knew it, Twinkle became more than a responsibility. And since then, both have come so far in their relationship. Yet, now they are faced with a crisis in their supposed heaven and can't seem to find each other, especially Twinkle. Kunj made all sorts of extravagant claims about never seeing her in pain, seeing her smile and he's gone. I can imagine Twinkle saying that if this was my heaven (the day of bliss spent together), where have you gone now? For Kunj, his family is crucial and in that he seems to lose Twinkle. He sees her as his wife but the daughter in law aspect is lost on him.
That's all for now since I have to go study for my college placement tests (Someone save me please). Either way, do share your thoughts!
