The episode starts with Twinkle's organized Barsi for her dad. Before anything else, I must say that I think it's very mature of her to want to do this for her father and for her mother. I think it is another indication of her growing maturity since her wedding. With that being said, I pity Twinkle. Her father is alive yet she is here, kept in the dark by her mother, husband and her father, planning a Barsi. I'm nervous to see how she will react when she finds out what the truth.
I found myself frustrated at RT and Kunj even Leela. With RT it is because of his inconsistency. He claims to have been away from his family due to a majboori. He expects everything to be okay yet he refuses to explain his absence. What logical sense does that make? "I'm sorry I was gone for years, I'm sorry you had to raise our daughter alone, I'm sorry you lived as widow. Please forgive me. Let's start over." Um, no. It does NOT work like that. Leela worked so hard, being Twinkle's father and mother, and he wants to swoop in and act as if all is well. Personally, I cannot stand RT. Not one bit. He seems to give off a suspicious vibe and I really hope he isn't bringing another storm in to the Taneja and Sarna households. Furthermore, I cannot stand the support Kunj is giving him without even knowing the reasons for RT's disappearance. I used to believe that Kunj was the more level headed, reasonable one yet I cannot believe the way he is acting now. It all goes back to the value Kunj places on his parents, his elders. But, he needs to understand parents are imperfect and that they have responsibilities. Being an elder does not mean you can wash your hands of your mistakes; being a parent is a role, an identity not a buffer or excuse.
And, the elaborate scheme Kunj played to stop the Barsi- why?! You could easily tell your wife that her father is alive. End of story. I don't understand Leela's logic anymore either. Twinkle is a grown married woman; how long do you plan to hide the truth from her? Yes that man is your husband and you have your personal relationship with him but he is also Twinkle's father. She needs to factor that into the story. Honestly, I don't care much for the return of Twinkle's father. I strongly believe that the Taneja family was doing well without him.
Now, I may just get stoned for this next bit (LOL). I didn't really like the Twinkle-Kunj scene. It was out of place and I just felt terrible for Twinkle. She's trying so hard to reconcile while Kunj is unrelenting. First, she tried to forget the matter and use a playful approach. When she saw that it was not working, she decided to be mature and be straightforward. Bechari ko aur kya karna pardega? Usually, Kunj takes on this role but this is proof that she is not childish. I must say it's rather refreshing to see Twinkle being the mature one. It shows a balance in their marriage; one person is not solely the level-headed one or the mature one. They both have their moments. It shows that marriage does not mean having a one partner "deal" with the other. It's a balance. It reminds me of the January 8, 2016 episode where Kunj is teary eyed over Anita's words and Twinkle makes him feel better. To this date, it is my absolute favorite scene. It shows that, contrary to the stereotype, males too need emotional support. It highlights the balance in gender roles in Twinkle and Kunj's marriage. Usually, they have the husband being mature and attempting to pacify the wife. Here, Twinkle is trying to pacify her husband. It's very refreshing despite Kunj having so many nakhre's. As I mentioned yesterday, I have no idea what Kunj expects from her. I think CV's need to work on having this muddle cleared first. Yes, ultimately Kunj did listen to her which did lessen my irritation. At this point, she feels more for him than he does for her. I think she may have overanalyzed his reaction but who knows?
Now, the whole bit with Maya- um, what is Kunj planning? I don't like this at all. If he wants to make Twinkle jealous, there is a way to do that without potentially breaking her heart or forcing her to take drastic measures. I mean this is Twinkle we are talking about- she will likely misinterpret and go off on him. And her outburst will be a mask to hide her pain. Sigh. I just don't like this. I wish Kunj would go back to himself. Or atleast discuss the matter with Twinkle. He keeps telling her to forget it but he won't let her with the way he is acting.
I want a whole apology scene. It doesn't have to be an elaborate date like Kunj earlier set up but something. I want to see Twinkle give up with her attempts or just simmer down and that's when Kunj realizes his mistakes and apologizes earnestly and sincerely.
All done, thanks for listening/reading. Let me know what you think, if you agree, disagree, etc. Looking forward to all you guys' thoughts!
