Twinkle walked down the road with tears in her eyes.Her tears didn't surprise her, of course. The sky was dark and the air chilly and she just had to identify a body that could have been her husband It's only natural that she's crying, only realistic that the ground felt shaky under her tired feet. she felt like she might collapse if she didn't stop soon.
But she couldn't stop, not now behind her was constant absence of kunj,their room where he doesnt sleep anymore.their house where he doesnt breathe anymore.She has to leave that all behind, because she knows he's gone this time, knows that he's lost and she cant go back to same life where kunj didn't exist And she didn't felt sad, She just felt empty.
Hollow. She wrapped both arms around herself, as if that could keep her together
she kept walking, head down. She was not sure where she was going, only that she had to escape the hollow bubble her life had become with out kunj.
She wants to hate him for that.why did he have to be so charming with his eccentricities. She hated herself why did she like his annoying nok jhok.why did she miss it.She was suppose to hate him her enemy. But she didn't hate him; she didn't hate him at all. she still misses him.
As she walks to nowhere in particular, she realizes that she has absolutely no idea.
She's been walking for only a few minutes when it dawns on her that she has no way of getting home.she forgot her phone while heading to the morgue.there wasn't a taxi or rickshaw for miles. she hugs herself tighter, shivering as uncertainty soaks her skin.if it was like before she would have been sure kunj was searching for her.he would have beem moving heaven and earth to search for her but realization dawned quickly he wont be looking this time. He was literally as lost as she was metaphorically. she's alone. She is utterly and completely alone, in the middle of nowhere.
Oh God.
What was she thinking.this is evrrything she was always warned about This is how girls get attacked.This is how -
But she shook her head She's strong enough to keep going, she sternly reminded herself. She has done this with yuvi's threat,anitas conspiracies ushas taunts She's just kept going
So she held her head high and she walked , pretending the dark silence doesn't scare her.
Suddenly, lights appear in the distance, and she freezes, her bones bracing for impact.her first reaction was fear but its taken over by determination she cant die yet not until she finds kunj. Of all the times he had saved her she couldnt let him down now. And right now she was death scared by the prospect of dying before saving kunj.No matter who was in that car she was alone and unprotected.
She stood stock still as the lights draw nearer, unable to move, unable to do anything, even blink. She was so very, very scared.
"Twinkle?"
Her body gaves way at the sound of his voice, and she opened her eyes immediately, tearing up when she saw his familiar form. She felt her heart speed up. She didnt know what to say, didn't know how to survive this all-consuming heart ache , so she broke into a run instead.
She pushed herself forward, towards the only man she's ever understood completely, and relief filled his features.He looked scared to death, and she ran faster.
She didn't want to keep him waiting any longer.
He catched her with open arms, and then he was holding her tighter than ever and his eyes were wet and she was crying and nothing had ever been more comforting, not her mother's soothing touch not even the sun peeking out after a punishing storm or chocolate ice cream while watching a sad film.
Just him.
He kissed her hair and rubbed her back, and she just sobs, sobs long and hard; she let go. The air is filled with the sounds of her whimpers, and he held her closer, pulls her in deeper. He whispered words of comfort
He pulls back after a long, drawn out moment that still doesn't feel long enough, his eyes wide and frightened. His hands are on her face, smoothing her skin with a tenderness that shocks her, touching every part of her he can reach, as if to make sure she's really here.she does the same having been through the fear of nearly loosing him.
She's gripped by the same alarming fear,he grasps his cheeks, his shoulders , his arms,pinching herself to make sure she's awake, to make sure he's here.
Are you okay?" He asks urgently, and it's only then that she realizes he's shaking, only then that she notices the worry in his eyes "twinkle are you okay? I escaped and ran home they told me you were gone probably to look for me.i tried to trace your steps.dammit woman do you have any idea how worried I was. Where is your phone??What were u doing in middle of the road at this time?''
He breaks off, closing his eyes, and she cries harder, lost in his words, lost in this man who's given her everything and never, not even once, asked her for anything in return. His hands check over her body now, searching for bruises, scratches, anything, and she trembles again, trembles because there's such concern in his touch.
She finds she can't say anything, even though she wants to thank him, wants to tell him she was worried sick for him.wants to tell him she couldn't eat without him being there.wants to tell him she prayed for him.she want to tell him so much but her tongue doesn't support her. His hands are at her face again, settling on her neck, her lips, her cheeks. His eyes blaze.checking if she is okay.why wasn't she responding. Had something terrible happened before he got here. Fear regripped his heart.
"I'm so sorry I didn't get here sooner," he repeats, biting his lip, looking at her with that telltale regret in his eyes. "I just -"
"I'm okay," she finally assured him wrapping her arms around him again. "I'm okay."
He seemed relieved by her promise, but still he clinged to her, as if he's afraid she will vanish before him. She had never seen him so afraid.she hugs him for a while, closing her eyes, shutting everything out of her mind but the smell of his familiar cologne. She doesn't want to feel anything but this. She doesn't want to feel the hurt the pain she had felt at him being gone.
Somewhere along the way he had held a special place in her heart and today she had felt what if was like to have your heart ripped out of your chest and burned alive.
She never wanted to feel this way again.
She would protect him with her life if need be and she trusted him to do the same.
After all only they knew each other better than the whole world.
So far they were in the same boat standing on opposite ends,today undrr the midnight sky they wordlessly vowed to help each other row the boat to safety and happiness. They weren't in shaky waters anymore. They would sail through the murky waters of their past towards the shore.
Okay people as promised here is my os.
I hope you liked it. I know title is clich and all but I thought it fit nicely.
And nothing happened much in my ones shot in terms of action
Don't worry I am working on another one filled with action as twinj escape from the kidnappers.
