Jetha is all about Jalebi Phaapda. Gadas talk about sev tameta nu shak etc etc but except for once maybe, never mention about Dhokla and Khandvi which are the most popular Gujrati dishes.

I don't remember Khandvi being mentioned. I think Jalebi-fafada and sev tameta nu shak etc are so terribly common and eaten so regularly by us Gujaratis, it's used more often in the script. Also, once Sundar brought "chavanu" for the gang from Ahmedabad.

Khandvi was mentioned some times when Taarak or Sundar and friends were invited for dinner. Dhokla is mentioned also. I think Jethalal had carried khaman for Ajay Devgan in the Himmatwala promotion track.

My point is they are not mentioned as much compared to other dishes. Rarely, when these are the most popular.

Sev tameta nu shack is a vegetable-subzi. It's made up of tomato curry with sev sprinkled on top. Some ppl also include potatoes and onions.
