" Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

I think there is nothing so wrong or right about the decision. The situation could have gone either way. I mean he is in trouble because his license was found there on the spot where the particular incident had occurred. Without that piece of evidence nobody would have ever claimed that gold. Also, neither did he find the biscuits nor did he steal it. Although the man was drunk but he gave the gold as a gift. So, GD wasis were not so wrong when they said he could have keep the gold.

If I remember correctly, Bhide refused to take the scooter his wife bought after selling her earrings. Therefore, its absolutely fair on Bhide's part to let go that amount of money.
