the guy who fires the gun is Bulbul's dad...You can see all the rings in his fingers and all the thread tied to his wrist.
The story might have happened this way..

Popat went to hathi's house and calls Rahul(which was not shown to viewers) and Rahul tells him he is close by and then Rahul sneaks in when there was cracker pollution. Rahul and Bulbul gets married and everybody is shocked to see Rahul ad Groom(the scene that was shown in precap) and then Bulbul's dad takes out gun (again the hand shown in the precap).
The year for TMKOC is going to start on depressing note.How many of us is going to follow the track on Popat's wedding in the future, or how long can they keep on showing the repetative failed marriage tracks of Popat.

There were bad tracks in the past too(like Jetha getting arrested in Pakistan, but they all ended on a happy note, but this track is going to end on a depressing end. Such ends are good only for 3 hour movie, but not for the show that has been running for years, where viewers are attached to the characters.😲
