It's because this is a serial!!!!!
In reality, this would have never happened because if this happened in real then Popatlal would have already informed at least someone in the GK before he did his act. Others who didn't know about Popat's idea would have met him privately and asked him about it (after they come to know).
But because this is a serial, it has to serve two purposes,
First, it has to drag the storyline (nothing really happened in yesterday's episode - Popat came home and episode ended!!!)
Second, serial writers want to keep the surprise element rolling for as long as they can even though if it becomes unrealistic.
I personally feel that watching past episodes makes me feel better as I can watch the whole story line (5-15 episodes) in a one streak. I feel watching the episodes live as it comes is a lot of torture because there is too much drag in storyline.
When I watching Bhootni's episode live, I felt that I was going through a torture as they were showing things slowly, bit by bit and I felt that that was the worst storyline. But now I like that story line because I can watch all 25 Bhootni episodes in 3 hours!! Even better I can fastforward all unnecessary and obvious stuff. Gladly, with more than 1000 episodes, there is truck loads of good storylines you can see on YouTube without getting bored.
