TOI: Jetha and Daya at a do..!

That Gujarat's the flavour of the moment is old hat now. From TV shows, films to award functions Gujaratis are everywhere.

Keeping their target audience in mind, recently actors Disha Vakhani and Dilip Joshi brought the house down at a television award function by anchoring the show in Gujarati. In their inimitable style, they engaged the audience with hilarious gags and acts. In her excitement Disha almost tripped off the stage but she admits that she "had a wonderful time anchoring the show. Even the audience seemed to have a good time. I'd love to anchor more such award shows in the future."

Dilip says that anchoring a show was a different experience for him. "As actors we are used to following the script while shooting for serials, but awards shows are not scripted. Initially, I was apprehensive but once we got into the flow, I surprised myself with my impromptu repartees."
