Well written post with points laid out nicely.

Awards are destiny, not everyone nominated gets the award. It is only one person out of the nominated that receives the award.

It is also an honor to get nominated for an award, as nomination means recognition that the person's work is noticed and appreciated.

Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone here remembers me anymore since I have been MIA from this forum for quite some time. But once upon a time, I used to be quite regular here and an avid fan of the show. I quit watching during all the Ragini-getting-kidnapped-by-Lakshya drama. The idiocy of it all got too much for me to bear and even my love for SwaSan couldn't hold me to it anymore. Recently I have managed to catch a few glimpses of the show since my Mother still watches it, and I was glad to see that Swara and Sanskaar FINALLY got their well deserved full-fledged wedding experience, albeit amid all the return-of-the-psycho-ex-girlfriend drama.

I visited the forum yesterday after quite a few months and needless to say, I was greeted with the pleasant surprise of the news of Swaragini bagging not one but three awards, all in the main category. Really proud of Varun, Helly and the entire fandom of SwaSan for being so loyal towards their favorite couple and sticking by them even during the most horrible and cringe-worthy moments in the story line. What came as a shock to me was all the negative responses people have been giving to Varun, Helly and SwaSan for winning. From other forum members and fandoms, their dislike of it is understandable, but coming from our own forum, I was quite disappointed.

When people don't get what they want, it's natural for them to feel betrayed and the only way to cope with it is to find something to put the blame on. In this case, those who didn't get to see their favorites win declared the entire awards rigged. Now I understand the feeling of being upset quite well, but over something so trivial? And for those who don't even know you exist? THAT I fail to understand. All those actors/actresses must have felt disappointed over not winning but they all went home, had a nice sleep, and the next day, everything was back to normal, exactly the way it was. Because life goes on. So why do fans find it so difficult to do the same? All these actors/actresses are going to go about their daily routines exactly the way they used to, working with and being surrounded by people who won instead of them, being friendly and professional, with the distant memory of their losses or victories. Why do fans of these same actors/actresses turn their losses and victories into a personal vendetta for each other? Why do their personal lives affect the fans so much that they resort to petty bullying and name-calling over people who couldn't care less about what happens over the internet. They are going to go about their lives without a care in the world and the fans make it their mission in life to fight FOR them.

Guess what? They don't need anyone to stand in for them. They don't need fans to fight their battles for them or give voice to something they probably don't even want said. It's the fans who turn it into a personal war between fandoms, forgetting all about the actor/actress's opinions regarding the matter. They are used to all the criticism and praises. It comes with the job. They don't sit around moping over every negative comment or dancing over every positive one. It's only the fans that drag these issues for eons. The voting system was online, which meant that anyone, anywhere in the world could vote for their favorites. How is that rigged? A jury can be rigged but online voting can't. Those who think that TRP audience contributes more to voting then online ones are kidding themselves. TRP audience consists of just one country, that too a few areas, but online voting reaches viewers overseas. Didn't some people claim that the UK audience contributed more to the ratings, and that too for SwaLak? I think the UK audience along with others have given their verdict and not surprisingly, the answer is SwaSan. Are those people going to call online voting rigged now for their convenience?

If you thought your favorite deserved to win so much, why didn't you vote for them like others did? It's not as if the voting system was open to just one fan group. All those who are cribbing over this being an undeserved and unfair victory, I'd like to ask them where they were when they were supposed to be voting for the person they thought was more deserving? Not every actor or couple has the same number of fans. It has been a known fact since day one that Varun, Helly, and SwaSan have a larger fan following then that of Namish and Tejaswi. Those who believed otherwise were ignorant. Since when is having more fans a crime? People love Swara and Sanskaar more. Them being positive is not even the factor. The simple fact is that they clicked with the audience more then any other characters or actors on the show. If you have ever seen American shows, you'd know what I'm talking about. At times it so happens that the negative characters are more loved by positive ones. It's all about the power of a character and the actor that breathes life to it.

We can't discredit Helly and Varun's hard work just because Tejaswi or Namish didn't win. Or vice versa. Taunting the creators to change the name of the show to just "Swara" is just juvenile. On what grounds are people claiming hat Tejaswi didn't get her due in this show? This show has been ALL about Ragini since day one for crying out loud. Ragini has been nothing but the main focus of the show for almost a year, it's only now that Swara is shown to be doing something other than crying over Ragini's antics. Tejaswi doesn't get the spotlight in one track and suddenly Helly has stolen her thunder. Seriously? Might I jog your memory a bit?

- Ragini falls in love with Lakshya
- Ragini finds out about Lakshya and Swara
- Ragini turns negative
- Ragini plots to separate Swara and Lakshya
- Ragini marries Lakshya
- Ragini continues her schemes
- Ragini wins EVERY TIME
- Ragini thrives to become the favorite bahu
- Ragini lures SwaSan into the real-marriage trap
- Ragini continues with her evil ways
- Ragini gets exposed
- Ragini pretends to mend her ways
- Ragini resorts to her evil ways once again
- Ragini traps Lakshya and the Maheshwaris after he attempts to kill her
- Ragini becomes Malkin of the Maheswari assets
- Ragini finally (though quite illogically) turns positive
- Ragini gets betrayed by Lakshya

Can someone please verify these and tell me if I missed something? I'm sure being the focus of SO many tracks would be enough. The only thing Swara did during these entire story lines was make useless plans to reunite her parents and cry "Hum ab Swaragini nahin rahay" . The only thing that worked in her favor during all this chaos was her fake marriage to Sanskaar, otherwise Swara's character didn't contribute much to the show till then since Ragini was under the limelight. And yet still people so blatantly whine that Tejaswi has been under utilized in the show. Why? Because her character turned negative? Big whoop. There have been numerous vamps in Indian shows and their characters are remembered till date. Biggest example is Komolika from Kasauti Zindagi Ki. Her character was loved and appreciated by the audience even more than the protagonist's. Hell even I liked her more than Prerna. She was wickedly interesting. If Tejaswi had a problem with being negative onscreen, she could have quit the show anytime. But she's still here. Ever wonder why? Because even she knows that opportunities like this come by once in a blue moon. Letting go of it would be incredibly foolish of her.

The point when an actor becomes good at their job is when they embrace the character that they are portraying. If Ragini as a character is lacking then it's partly because Tejaswi hasn't been able to fully embrace Ragini as a negative character. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking that positive Ragini was doing anything for the show. It's only when she turned evil that Tejaswi was able to get recognized for her character and show her talent as an actor. She along with her fans should be thankful for that, otherwise Ragini would have been just another character that got forgotten. I understand that Tejaswi was promised something and given something else entirely and she must have felt betrayed, but even after giving a statement, she never quit the show. That's because somewhere even she knew that Ragini would have been nothing had she not been negative. It may not have been what she wanted, but it was definitely what she needed to boost her career. As an actor, she should not be afraid of essaying negative characters. An actor is nothing if not versatile.

Coming back to the original issue at hand, if people feel so betrayed by Helly's win and think it's unfair to Tejwasi, why not ask Tejaswi yourself instead of feeling angry on her behalf? It's just an award, not the end of the world. Even Leonardo Dicaprio won an Oscar now after being nominated six times throughout the years. Doesn't make him less of an actor now does it? If an actor is good enough, he/she will get their due one day. Salman Khan has never won a best actor award, but his fans don't love him any less. These awards are important in appreciating an actor's talent and hard work but they don't define them. So stop taking such petty matters over heart. But if they are so important to you, why not vote like a madman and prove your fandom's worth?

In the end, I'd like to once again congratulate Varun Kapoor, Helly Shah and the entire SwaSan fandom who so loyally voted for them and proved their worth. A truly well deserved victory! 👏

Well said.As well as the points on ragd are true.
