Afreen, mass-viewership now is more regressive than years earlier. :(
When there were less options, more progressive stuff was accepted. But now there are more options that the channel can be switched to see something more conservatives-pleasing on another channel.
In any series, ignore what channel, PH and segments *say* about characters and tracks, it's mutable and changeable depending on majority-audience's preferences.
Usually the
sister who is dressed more conservatively is intended as the more
mass-appreciable character, the more important female-lead. The bolder
one usually ends up as the less mass-appreciable and thence the less important female-lead.
When they didn't get majority-audience hooked, to the possibility of neither Swara-Lakshya and Lakshya-Ragini, the next hook was going to be Sanskaar's pairing with one of the sisters.
They tried Sanskaar's pairing twice with Ragini - first with both as sweet characters, then with both as conspiring. Only when both those attempts didn't make the pairing mass-appealing, then they opted for Sanskaar-Swara. Don't know if they intended that pairing from the start, but they tried hard with every other option first.
Ragini's every action until now has been stuff that majority-audience has previously forgiven with barely a couple of episodes of remorse. She has months of mass-appricable conduct, and a few weeks of not. Swara still needs to fully build a similar mass-appreciation, and better that it should be faster.
That's why we should prudently set aside our more progressive preferences and logic, and think in most conservative terms. So long as that is carefully handled and the lead-pairing is mass-appreciated, then the viewership-dividends are very nice. :))
