Karan p.o.v.
Naina and Karan had headed back to their hotel room, packed their belongings, met their siblings and were now snuggled into a vehicle heading off to the airport. While Kunal and Meghna had taken the front seats, Naina and Karan decided that it was best for them to settle down in the back seat. Karan was busy watching his wife. Cuddled cutely into his arms, she looked nothing less than angel. And why not after all in his life she was nothing short of one. When he had convinced himself that his life was only darkness, she had walked in with confidence that made cracks and allowed the sunshine to seep through.
He would never be able to tell her in words what she meant to him. His heart was like a frozen pill, devoid of any feelings, love and care. Even if he did have a tinge of emotion, he had suppressed it down so that no one could see it. His whole life, he had kept everyone away, but she burst into his arms as if she belonged there. Last night was nothing short of pure romance. His heart had felt content like no other day. For once he was glad that he was unwell all his life because now the only women he would love, he would ever allow to come so close that their breaths mingled would be Naina. He had felt her small hands leaving marks on his shoulders, her silky hair brushing over his face. Moments which he would want to never forget.
He had read novels before and he had often laughed at the concept of soul mates but now he believed he had found one. One that he wanted to see every aspect of life with. One that he would never get bored of even if they spent an eternity together. She was the key to his lock. The medicine for his wounds. More than anything she was the love that he would value more than the most precious things that he could buy in the world. They were one now in the true way, by heart and soul. He traced a few strands of her hair behind her ear and planted a soft kiss in her hair. God had blessed him with a beauty like no other.
Naina p.o.v.
She had dozed in and out of sleep. They were now in the car heading from the airport to their home. She had slept through most of the plane journey. As she peeked open her eyes. She felt the warmth surround her and she realised that she was nicely enveloped in Karan's arms. He felt her move and sat upright. Naina, he smiled. She smiled back. It had been an amazing honeymoon and she had no regrets about it. She reached out to hold his chin and tilt his face down. I love you a lot, she whispered. He grinned and before she could move away gave a small peck on her lips. Badmaash she said giving his elbow a little smack. He giggled and winked.
Their reception at home was very warm. The elders welcomed them and pulled them all into good long hugs. Then after some small talk in the living room, the couples were heading off to change. She was neatly tidying up the suitcase and cleaning up. Karan was lying down on the bed watching her. After a while, she took a set of clothes and was going to the washroom when she felt a tug at her arm. Karan chodo, sab neeche naashtha karne ke liye intezaar kar rahe honge. But his grip didn't loosen. Instead she was pulled more firmly into him and his arms came swiftly round her waist. Please Karan, mujhe kapde badal ne do. His arms moved up and came round her neck. Oh acha, tumhe change karna hai. The stern gaze in his eyes made her shy down.
Hum change kardenge kapde, he said with a wink. Naina's breath caught at her throat. Her heart pounding away rapidly. He slowly loosened the grip round her and twirled her around so that he was hugging her back now. His nose nuzzled at her ears. She tried to say something but the words evaporated away. His fingers slid down her arms and she closed her eyes. Her bangles clattered to the floors as he slipped them off one by one. Then a slight brush of his fingers at her ear as her earrings too dropped off.
Then the slow pressure of his lips round her neck and finally the weight of the necklace falling off too. The fingers slowly drifted to her back, as they traced some lines on her smooth skin. She so regretted wearing the backless shalwar now as she felt the strings on her shalwar loosen. The shawl round her neck finding itself on the floor. His breath tickling her neck and his fingers slowly peeled the shalwar down her shoulders. A sudden knock at the door made them jump apart and she took this moment to rush into the washroom and lock herself.
Karan p.o.v.
Karan watched as the last of Naina's shadows drifted off and the door slammed. He let outa deep breath and went to open the door finding Khyati waiting. Bhai she said excitedly as he opened the door. All his momentary anger vanished with her smile. He let her in. He didn't need to ask why she was here. Whenever anyone ever went away from the house and came back, Khyati would be there. After all this was a great opportunity for presents. He watched as she silently sat down and then his eyes went to the jewellery on the floor. Thank goodness Khyati was sitting on the other side of the bed.
But to his agony, she got up again and started to wander around the room. He had to distract her. Khyati tumhari padai kaisi chal rahi hai, he asked. Haan acha chal rahi hai bhai, she replied. Her eyes slowly scanning their half empty suitcase for gifts. It gave him the optimum time to slowly use Naina's shawl which was lying on the floor to cover the jewellery and slowly brush them away under the bed. He grinned at his achievement. Bhai aap aise kyun has rahe hain, she inquired. Woh main main, he stumbled. Ooh aap bhabhi ke bare mein soch ke sharma rahe the, she pulled and winked. He shied. Ooh mere Karan bhai kitne cute hain, she said grinning. This time he started to chase her and she leapt running out of the room laughing. He stood looking out of the room shaking his head.
Naina p.o.v.
After changing and pushing Karan off to change, she was now down serving dinner. A few minutes later Karan slowly descended down the stairs. She quickly served him with a few eye locks and his occasional wink when no one was looking. Dadaji insisted the bahus sat down too. So she took her place next to Karan. Before she could take a mouthful Karan gripped her hands under the table. His left and her right. She wiggled, gave him a stare but he didn't let go. Chodo Karan, she warned but he gave a flying kiss and went back to eating in his merry way.
Are cheeku, tum kuch kaa kyun nahi rahi hai. Tumhari thabiyat toh teek hai nah. Meghna asked with her brow crossed with worry. Woh di aisi kuch baat nahi hai, mein kaungi, she pressed. Meghna gave a nod and with difficulty Naina started to eat with her left hand. Karan grin as he kept squeezing her other hand under the table. Please she signalled, but he squeezed her fingers and kept eating. Kabse meri saali left handed hai? Asked Kunal. Naina turned red. Again she tried her best but Karan's grip was too firm. Woh jiju actually woh. Haan cheeku, Kya hua hai, asks Meghna. Woh di, she tried to answer fluttering. Everyone at the table was now looking at her. Woh di woh Karan, and at that Karan turned pale as everyone burst out laughing even the normally arrogant NK.
Kya bhai, kaane ke waqt bhi meri saali ko ched raha hai Kya? asked Kunal winking towards Karan as he blushed red. He finally let Naina's hand go and everyone resumed to their eating while the laughters kept repeating round the table. Naina met Karan's eyes. He gave a embarrassed smile and she shied away too. After dinner, it was finally a day of gift giving and everyone was so pleased at what they had received. Dadaji was trying his new shawl in front of the mirror and held up an ancient sword giving my Kunal. Maa got two sarees from both the bahus. Karan gifted the tie to his father who had finally begun to like him seeing his progress in business. He got a shirt from Kunal too. Finally giggled as she tried on the bangles and earrings Naina had chosen. Meghna had got her a new watch. Finally, Karan and Naina received some good blessings from the elders and the leg pulling didn't stop as they left off towards their room.
