Dating – Dilemma of parents coming to know in Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year
Dating and courtship though not a phenomenon that is new, in the Indian cultural scenario it is not a blas situation where one coolly flaunts one's relationship. Falling in love is one thing, telling the person you love is another and letting the world know is a different ball-game altogether. Clandestine meetings, friends sworn to secrecy are things that teenagers do. Is it society pressure? Yes to certain extent. Parents especially want to protect their kids, the daughter.
In Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year we have seen the parents Baldev Guggal (Akshay Anand) and Lovely Guggal (Ekta Sharma) express their unwillingness to let their daughters have boyfriends or even be with girls who seem to have one. Suvreen Guggal (Smiriti Kalra) is in dilemma. She has lied a few times and has felt guilty. Now, she wants to tell the truth to her parents that Yuvraj Singh (Shivin Narang) is her boyfriend. But before she could get the courage, she heard their opinions and has shut her mouth. Is lying by omission lying?
Now, Yuvraj has ended up at Suvreen's place. And his worry is that he will spill the beans in his nervousness. He knows Papa Guggal very well and there is going to be trouble. Suvreen is not home to diffuse the situation. He is trying to escape. But is stuck.
