Suvreen Guggal – Topper Of The Year is an Indian TV drama series that airs on Channel [V] India every Monday to Friday at 6:30 p.m. IST and 8:30 p.m. IST.[1] The show premiered on 19 March 2012.[2]

Topper of the year, is an inspiring, rousing coming of age tale of an entire generation of youngsters studying at DPSC, a prestigious college in Delhi. It's a humorous and riveting campus drama that states that there's more to this Facebook generation than iPod and low-waist jeans.
The Female lead. She is a gorgeous but simple 19 year old girl from Kathgodam. Suvreen topped her 12th Board Exams with 89.04%. Being the topper of the year in her school and the only one who is named all over the town. But in DPSC she is one of the many, many toppers. With big dreams, she is the new student at DPSC. She is determined, thought-provoking, naive and righteous. Her interests are singing, thinking, solving other people's problems, making friends, studying, listening to music and many more.In the recent episodes she realizes that shes in love with Yuvraj. She constantly thinks,dreams about Yuvraj. She feels jealous when Yuvraj is adored by girls. She is surrounded by problems and trouble all the time. Currently, she is doing a fashion course for which she is even doing a job at the [V] Spot Cafe, to earn money for her course.
The Male Lead. He is a 21 year old Haryanvi guy full of desi style that no girl can resist. He is the second year student at DPSC and the sports secretary. 'Bhai' is what he is called by all around DPSC. Yuvi is known as the charm of the college. He is unpredictable, crude yet simple, rowdy yet lovable, stubborn and gutsy. he never attends his classes and always gets away with bunking. He hates drinking as he had lost his friend in a car accident who was hit by a drunk driver. He feels whom his parents choose for him as wife will be his choice too. He prefers country girls rather than the urban ones. He is the star footballer at DPSC. He doesn't like any kind of nonsense shown towards girls especially Suvreen. He has never had a girlfriend and somehow Suvreen appeals to him. He is the Mr. Popular of DPSC. He calls himself the 'cheetah'. He also realized that he likes Suvreen, but has no guts to tell her. He is afraid that their relationship would break their friendship.Now he is falling in love with her.He is many times feel jealous when suvreen talks to other boys.Now he is always thinking about his goal in life since suvreen shouts that he is like gyanesh no passion and goal in life.
She is also a DPSC aspirant like Suvreen. She loves partying 24x7. She is Suvreen's best friend. She has a huge crush on Aneesh and wants to impress him by any means.She accompanies Suvreen in her worries and troubles. She is however a rich girl whose parents are separated. She has developed some feelings for Rathi and is curruntly Rathi's girlfriend. She named their group of Suvreen, Yuvraaj, Naro, Mannu, Rathi and herself as Superb Six. She is super excited all the time and wants to bring Yuvraj and Suvreen together at any cost. Annie is the main reason for which Suvreen has changed her course. Suvreen attended the workshop only to accompany Annie and ended up in joining the course. She broke up with Rathi due to some misunderstand.
She is also a DPSC aspirant like Suvreen. She is from Assam and wants to study in DPSC so that she doesn't have to go back and work in tea plantations. She is Suvreen's roommate and close friend along with Annie. Mannu likes Naro which she is unaware of.
He is also Yuvi's BFF and a TRILOKPURI KA CHICHORA. On Yuvreen's planned date in Annie's house, Rathi faints. In order to maknnie gives mouth-to-mouth. Since the incident the two are shown to develop feelings for each other. And it is shown that both of them have started dating each other.
He is Yuvi's BFF. He was saved by Yuvi from Gyanesh and other seniors in the first day of college. Ever since he has been with Yuvi. He is shown to develop feelings for Naro since the fresher's party. He is also known as TRILOKPURI KA CHICHORA.
He is the new friend of suvreen and annie in the fashion course. his real name is zorrovar Sangha-the son of a great cricketer. but his father doesn't like him since he is attracted towards boys. his father thinks he is useless.
He is the teacher of the fashion course which Suvreen has joined recently. Befor their meeting in the class Suvreen and Rehan shared a bitter meeting. Suvreen yelled at him on the road and gave him lectures because his car was about to hit her. Later on, in the college only she came to know that he is her teacher. He is impressed by Suvreen since she was the only one who gave the right answer for his question. He is rude in his outward behavior but has a heart of gold.
Vivan is the mystery child who is shown in the show recently. suvreen thinks that he is RC's child but she isn't sure. he is a real fun loving character. he calls Rehan "DOST" which means friend. when he first met suvreen he asked her to play guitar and was impressed by her talent. he wanted suvreen to teach him guitar. he convinces suvreen and Rehan in a cute way and gives RC's number to suvreen and suvreen's number to RC. suvreen likes him very much because he does the CHOPSY of RC.
she is also a student in the fashion course. she knows she looks good and enjoys her power. she is very rich and hates being recognised by her mother's name. she is very ambitious. she calls herself a WINNER and thinks she is the best. suvreen calls her "miss I am the best". She met Yuvraj at the college campus and is very impressed by him as they both like cars and they both have named their cars Laila and Princess respectively.
The Antagonist. He is a 2nd year student and the General Secretary at DPSC. He is from Bihar and his favourite song is Dimple Disco. He stands for the election against Yuvraj and chooses Suvreen as the General Secretary in his cabinet. It is later revealed that Gyanesh is spending his 3rd year in DPSC and actually was senior to Yuvraj, Mannu and Rathi but he failed and now is a 2nd year student with Yuvraj, Mannu and Rathi. He hates Yuvraj and he always tries to separate Yuvraj and Suvreen. He is trying his best to impress Suvreen and her father who thinks that Gyanesh is a good boy.
He is Suvreen's dad and she calls him 'puppa'. He cares for Suvreen a lot. He is sweet and supportive but does not allow Suvi to interact with boys especially Yuvraj. He hates Yuvraj since their meeting at Kathgodam. In Delhi too he met Yuvraj at DPSC when he came to meet Suvreen. When Suvreen tried to introduce Yuvraj to her father after the Romeo-Jliet play, he tried to escape. Yuvraj calls him 'DDLJ Ke Amrish Puri'. Suvreen's father has high aspirations about her and wants her to do MBA without consulting what she wants to do. Soon he will too be convinced that Suvreen's real talent is in fashion.
She is Suvreen's Mom(Mumma). She is overprotective and over reacting. She prevents Suvreen from doing each and everything. She forces Suvreen to stay away from boys. She is convinced by Suvreen about her fashion course.
She is the hot 2nd year student and the cultural secretary at DPSC. She is Abhimanyu's girlfriend. She is powerful and always tries to trap Suvreen in her plans because of her hatred towards Suvreen.Currently not in the show.
She is Suvreen's best friend from Kathgodam. She is jealous of Annie being Suvreen's BFF. She is super hyper all the time. Now she is having a fight with her BFF Suvreen. She is a medical student. She too like Suvreen is fulfilling her parent's dreams rather than her own. Her fight with Suvreen has resolved. She came to Delhi to make Suvreen realize about her parent's aspirations. But she then realises that Suvreen is serious towards fashion course and is determined to prove herself. She is now returning back to Kathgodam to convince her parents that she is not interested in doing medicals.
She is in her mid-fifties. She belongs to a royal family and DPSC is set up by her husband Devendra Pratap Singh II. She is Maharani Savitri Devi Singh. She is the principal of DPSC and firmly believes that discipline plays a vital role in everybody's life. She likes to keep everyone on their toes. She is strict, hard-working and disciplined. But yes, even she has her quirks. She likes to play the piano during her spare time. Currently, she has gone to some place due to a problem created by Aneesh.
He is the 23 year old PhD student at DPSC. He is a Malayali [from Kerala]. He is the principal's blue-eyed boy. He is stylish, he knows that he looks good and he enjoys the feeling of power. He finds Suvreen to be interesting and unique. He is not the "perfect angel" he seemed to be at the start, but he is actually trying to defeat Yuvraj, and also go against Savitri Singh. He plans to defeat her and have students and the entire nation go against her at some stage. He is using Suvreen against Savitri Singh. He has come to DPSC to take revenge from Princess Savitri Devi Singh.
He is called 'Hegde' by everybody at DPSC. He is a good friend of Suvreen, Annie and Naro. He is really smart when it comes to computers and helped Suvreen with her laptop when Yuvraj locked it with a password. During a game at freshers night hedge has to dance with Shruti although both don't want to they end up giving a great performance. He is a 99% topper who entered the college withot any problem.
