The show is an adaptation of a mexican teleserial Piel de otoo. Here is the plot of the show from wikipedia. Read in your own risk if you want to know the plot of the show.

Ramn, has progressed in his work and achieved an excellent economic position. However, his wife, Lucia, is not happy because Ramn has become materialistic and cruel. Their daughter Liliana, follows her boyfriend to Spain who leaves her after she becomes pregnant.

Lucia has been communicating with a man online for quite some time, who simply signs his name as "wind." After her hellish life at home went to the point of no return, Lucia escapes from home and goes to Spain after her best friend Triana dies. She meets a man named Santiago and eventually falls in love with him. However, they eventually realize that they have been communicating online all that time.

Lucia eventually returns to Mexico. She divorces her cruel husband, gains the respect of her children, and even starts her own business. Santiago decides to follow her to Mexico, but will Ramon be an albatross in their romance? Or will Santiago and Lucia's love prevail?

Then Lucia comes back and lives with Ramon and end the story with Santiago and Liliana becomes a good mom.

I am sure they can not show middle age Indian woman having an affair so they will change the story there.

Other than that I think it will be good fit for Indian audiences....

candyfloss, you are right. They showed same thing in "Hasratein" and that to so many years back and people accepted it so why not now. It all depends how they show it....

So far, I like the plot of the story. There is nothing wrong in finding your own happiness. I like this serial even though i wish that they wouldn't freeze frame every one for every scene.

i totally agree with justme47....our society is not yet open to drastic ideas as women leaving homes and coming back to them and being accepted byt he family as well as the society....
but yes the producers of the show can give sujata more reasoning powers.. i personally know a lot of women who have never spoken a word around the house regarding any decisions etc but they have silently steered their families and kept them together and their children as well as their husbands give them due credit for that even if they dont admit it openly...
sujata should learn to earn respect by doing things silently rather than tryong to gain appreciation openly...

It would be refreshing if Sujata moves away and lives her own life on her own terms...finding her true love

however that will probably not happen

Extra-marital type affairs or women divorcing with grown kids and marrying someone else is not a very strong topic in indian society

I dont think divorce would be a positive spin on this show...

However the couple getting some kinda counselling and maybe working thru their problems would be nice...showing the acceptance of marriage counselling would be a more positive step

can someone refresh our memories about hasratein. we did not have indian tv in those days out here. so these serials have passed us by.

these serials are adaptations not exact copies of the tele novellas. it would not be palatable in india the way the storyline is laid out originally.

HASRATEIN..

Hasratein is one of the first serial based on extra marital relationships, based on a very famous novel by marathi writer JAYANT DALVE. The story revolves around an extra marital relationship.

The story begins when 8 year old Savi. Savi's mother leaves her father (singer) for another man (the tabla player). The little girl is brought up by her aunt and uncle.

The girl is always taunted and reminded of her mother's action. She grows up to be a a pretty girl, who marries a professor. She feels trapped sitting at home and wants to start a career. She takes up a job disregarding her husbands objection.

This creates a rift between husband and wife relationship. She joins a advertising agency and falls for the KT (HARSH Chaaya) who is already married and has a family. She leaves her husband and child.

They both a have live in relationship, for 15 yrs. They have a daughter. This story clearly depicts the character of SAVI who is courageous woman who struggles through various UPS DOWNS faces in life.
