"Stop it...what is someone sees us?" I said.
"Let them see. I don't mind." He replied. He held me so tightly around my waist that I could barely turn left or right. He was standing behind me while I was washing dishes.
"You've changed. You weren't like this before. Won't you mind it if Sharad Bhaiya catches you right now and teases you?" I questioned him.
"I think I should be the one worried about that...you should take it easy and finish the dishes..." He whispered and held me tighter. His lips were on my ear. I was finished with the dishes but I couldn't move.
"Stop it..." I said in a low voice. I was worried Di or Maa would walk into the kitchen and catch us like this.
"Stop what?" He asked. I managed to turn slightly so that I could look at his face over my left shoulder.
"Let me go or I'll scream." I said.
"And attract attention? I still won't let you go." He grinned.
"What do you want?" I asked. I couldn't help it but smile back at him.
"You know what I want." He nodded.
"Please, Yuvraj..." I squirmed and tried to free myself. "Wait for me in the room. I need to talk to Di, and then I'll see you there..."
"That's why I'm not letting you go. You act as if you have time for me. Admit it, you don't." He said. This time it he sounded serious. I felt guilty. He let go and turned around. I held his arm.
"I love you..." I said.
He didn't respond so I walked closer to him and moved his hair away from his eyes. He stared back at me.
"What? Do you have a problem with my hair now?" He asked.
"Oh God, so pissed off, aren't you? I love you hair." I said. "Smile, please..." I said.
"Only if you kiss me..." He said. He raised his eyebrows and crossed his arms around his chest.
"Fine, I'll do it..." I tiptoed closer to him and locked my arms around his neck. Our noses touched. He tried to suppress his smile. I giggled. He closed his eyes and we kissed very softly just once. I was ready for another one but the sound of footsteps broke the trance we were under.
"Run!" I said. I ran for our room and Yuvraj caught up with me and grabbed my arm.
"What are you doing?" I asked. He hushed me. He dragged me into the room and locked the door. I was sandwiched in between him and the door.
I tried pushing him away but he wouldn't budge. He laughed. "This is perfect. Guess you won't be chatting with Bhavna tonight." He said.
"Stop laughing at my expense." I said.
He held my waist. "I believe we weren't finished yet..." He said. Something about the way he said that made me shiver. I couldn't look him straight in the eyes anymore.
"It's late...let's sleep." I said. He touched his forehead with mine. "Excuses..." He whispered.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I make you nervous. I can tell..." He smiled. He was looking deeply into my eyes. I wish I could stare at him in the same way but I couldn't. I kept a straight face.
"You think too highly of yourself." I said. "Move, Yuvraj...I can't stand with my back against the door all night, you know." I said.
He pulled me against him within and split second. I was shocked. "How'd you do that?" I asked.
"I'm superman." He said.
I laughed and he smiled. "God, finally, Suhani lightens up." He said. I adjusted his collar. I touched his face. He held my hand against his cheek and kissed it. He cupped my face and moved closer until our noses touched.
"I actually have a very solid reason for why I'm running after you today." He said. He moved my hair aside and grabbed my waist with one hand and pulled me closer.
"Bhaiya, Anuj and I are going on a business trip for a few days, three or four, most probably.We'll go tomorrow morning..." He said.
I was angry that he hadn't told me this all day. I straightened up and frowned. "How long have you known about this?"
"Since yesterday..."
"Why didn't you tell me then?"
"I didn't know how you'd react. I was a little worried. It's the first time we'll be apart in quite a while..."
I didn't know how to react. "You should've told me earlier so I could've helped you pack."
"Packing can wait till the morning..." He said. He held my hand and moved forward. I buried my face against his chest and we hugged. A few seconds later we looked at one another. I started to speak but before I could say anything, he kissed me. I held onto his shoulders and kissed him back. I felt his chest. His lips left mine and ended up against my neck and as we crashed against a wall. I was breathless. He held my face.
"I hate being away from you...even if it's just for a few days..." He said.
I couldn't reply properly so I just closed my eyes and we held each other tightly the rest of the night.
