Today's episode was dramatic and an ode to the Suhani-Soumya relationship while Yuvraj was finally transformed into the ULTIMATE bystander.
Soumya sends Suhani to the swamp: The episode starts with Sharad taunting Soumya about staying in BH and asking her to make haste and get out as soon as she can! You know what, with the amount of Sharad-Somu scenes we're getting, I am seriously wondering whether they will be a future couple, 'cause its really the easiest way to keep Soumya in BH forever. šš Anyway, Soumya stomps off and vents her anger out on poor Ramesh! š”I really hate the way he is treated by everyone. Suhani soon arrives because she's on the lookout for her Tantrum King husband, and Soumya's wickedness makes her send Suhani to the swamp-ridden jungle, despite Ramesh telling her about it. I think this was Soumya's worst moment, 'cause she put Suhani in danger because of her greed and jealousy. š¤¢ Green is a colour that does NOT suit you, Soumya! Suhani wanders off into the jungle looking for her errant husband and lo and behold, slips and falls into a treacherous swamp which works like quicksand. This was a truly horrible scene to watch and I felt scared and sad for Suhani! šš Rajshri did this scene well because she was able to convince me that Suhani was in danger and for the first time, I saw some concern for HERSELF and HER life in Suhani. She struggled to get out as the swamp tried to swallow her whole. š² Meanwhile, SaNuj and their wives were busy playing snakes and ladders (how symbolic) with their wives and Soumya contemplates the seriousness of what she has done. ShaRaj have gone out for a walk and Pratima seemed to to be the ONLY one who cared that Suhani was absent.
Soumya saves Suhani from her own deathtrap: ShaRaj arrived to inform Pratima that Suhani was not with them and Pratima became sick with worry for the 2nd time in ONE day. Menka cracks a crass joke about Suhani playing hide and seek with them š¤¢ and Anuj asks her to shut up while Saurabh worriedly wonders where Suhani is. At this point, I HAVE to say that SaNuj were more worried for Suhani than Prince Jerk-raj. He looked like his mother had just told him she lost her keys, with a droll expression that was a cross between š and this š„±. Yuvraj primly assures Pratima they will look for Suhani and SaNuj hurry to the highway while ShaRaj look around the farmhouse. Out of the Phateechars, Menka is the only one who seems worried and Soumya is thinking HARD about what she did. Ragini asks her to give her a jug of water and Soumya drops it, presumably because she has JUST realised the seriousness of what she has done. She runs to the swamp and sees Suhani battling death and life. Our poor Suhani was screaming for her life, with only her head visible to see. šš She ALMOST died today! WTH! She looked frightened and alone. š Soumya seemed to act out of a mixture of guilt and fear over the consequences of what she had done and the realisation that this was her childhood BFF she had just sent to her death. She seems to have some residual sense of humanity left and she was crying and encouraging Suhani to hold on to a branch she extended to get her out of the swamp. Soumya tries her level best, convinces Suhani that nothing is going to happen to her while SHE is there and finally pulls her out. SUCCESS! She hugs Suhani with tears streaming down her face. I think her childhood affection for Suhani climbed out of the recesses of her tainted heart and combined with her fear motivated this "valiant" effort by her.
Everybody rushes to Suhani: When Soumya brought Suhani to the rest of the Birlas, everyone rushes to her, but Yuvraj's reaction was a let down and a disappointment. He didn't look startled or shocked enough. IMO, he should have reacted with the ferocity and emotion he had during Pratima's medicine drama. It seems like Yuvraj has become indifferent to Suhani. Writers, why are you doing this? I understand that it was about Suhani-Soumya today, but once you had Soumya save Suhani, you could have had a heartfelt YuvAni moment. When Suhani told everybody what happened, Yuvraj looked like some regular bad news had been delivered and he had not just been told that HIS WIFE was about to DIE. š”š” He had more of a reaction when Soumya faked her sprain, actually. Like I said, props to Saurabh's expressions, 'cause honestly today, he seemed like her hubby and not Yuvraj. I don't know why the CVs did this 2 days in a row. šš¤¢ Yuvraj asks Suhani who told him he was in the jungle and again, she failed to answer. I don't know what she was thinking. šš She then goes to change, and again, Yuvraj was so callous, because he didn't even go with her to make sure she was alright. All our "Tum theek toh ho?" and 'hugging her in desperation' scenarios went out of the WINDOW. š¤¢DAMN! It was Somu who followed Suhani and Suhani told her she would talk to her later. Ragini is also a downright š¤¬ because she actually asked Soumya why she didn't just let Suhani drown? Wow, I thought you had some good in you, Ragini, but I was DEAD WRONG! You are just like Snaky.
Yuvraj and Soumya have a heart to heart: Okay, so after a life-threatening event where Suhani ALMOST died, logically, we should have gotten a heartfelt YuvAni scene, right?? DING DING DING! You are wrong. š¤¢ We instead got a heart-to-heart convo between who else but, Yuvraj and Soumya! WOW! šš¤¢Yuvraj goes to Somu's room to THANK Her and Soumya tells him there is no need to thank her because this is the least she could have done after everything Suhani has done for her. Oh, so you remember all that Soumya? š²š² I didn't know this. Soumya then tells Yuvraj JUST HOW AFRAID she was when the thought that she might LOSE Suhani forever entered her mind and how she resolved to save her, no matter what. Yuvraj looked on like this š and even at that moment, when Soumya gave him an opportunity, he didn't look like he thought about the same thing. WHAT THE FREAK?! š” Soumya then apologises for everything she has done in the past few days and asks Yuvi for a fresh chance at their friendship. They then shake hands as if they are Obama and Modi. š¤¢š¤¢ In his gratefulness to Somu, Yuvraj has also become like his dumb wife. Suhani walks in with a serious expression on her face and Soumya starts beseeching her to understand that she didn't send her there on purpose. Although the episode ended with Suhani's serious and pensive expression, don't worry guys! She will definitely answer Somu with our favourite SSEL dialogue- "Koi baat nahi, Somu!".š„±
