TOI: Vikas eliminated!

Vikas Bhalla's elimination from Star Ya Rockstar has come as a surprise. The Actor, who had been impressing audiences with his songs, too wasn't expecting to be eliminated so early.

TOI spoke to him about this and here's what he had to say:

"I would feel bad if it was purely a singing competition amongst the participating celebrities. But the reason I am not taking it negatively is because these eliminations are not a reflection of one's capability or ability as a singer or a performer. But is a reflection of how popular a TV Star is and is based on the popularity of one's current telly show. I would say that there is some brilliant talent on the show, but also a few of the other contestants, who I would rate as below average singers.

Their fan base is supposedly voting for them irrespective of their mediocre singing prowess, which in my opinion is not the correct criteria of a participant singer's ability to win or stay in a show. In a music based reality show, prime importance should be given to the talent and to no other factors. But at the end of it, it's just a game and one has to take it in a fun spirit; so what I would say is that yes, I am definitely feeling sad about leaving the show, but the reason is that we all had got extremely close in the one-month period and I will be missing them all from Anu bhai to Alisha to all the participants to my guru and the production house and the channel.
