I really did not know this story if Kausalya had a daughter before and she and Dasarathar were not talking to each other due to some issue

The character of Shanta was not in original Valmiki Ramayan akka.. It was told in later versions.

You can read about the character Shanta and about her husband who did the yagam and gave the food to Dhasharaths wives to have so that they can have children from Wikipedia..

Grown up Ram and Sita are SOOO beautiful!! <3 I totally swooned over in Friday's episode. There wa so much foreshadowing <3 Gorgeous Sita stopping the horse, and tellling it that there must be atleast 1 kind soul in Ayodhya to not kill the horse, and then they immediately showed Ram (that too shirtless.) I am really enjoyign and loving Ashish and Madirakshi's portayal of Ram and Sita. They do it so beautifully, and they are both so devine looking <3
