Ammaji promises Meera that she will get Shan and Alaka married and asks her to open the door. As Meera opens the door, Alaka rushes into the room and cries on seeing Meera's partially burnt palms, however, she scolds Meera and says that it was wrong on meera's part to put pressure on Ammaji and force out a 'yes' from her. Although Ammaji had agreed to the marriage, Alaka would herself refuse the proposal herself and not agree to it under any circumstances whatsoever. Everybody is surprised and Alaka walks away to her room. Ammaji tells a sad Meera that since she had agreed to Shan and Alaka's marriage, she would herself go and speak to Alaka and get her consent.
Inside her room, Alaka is crying as she is unable to think of how to balance her life. Ammaji comes and praises Alaka for upholding the basic heritage of the Bharadwaj Family by disagreeing to marry Shan but she knows very well that Alaka will never go against Ammaji's judgement. She tells Alaka that they cannot break Meera's heart and so all preparations of the marriage will be done too. And Meera will be happy. However, there is a catch. Although Meera will think that wedding preparations are on for Alaka, actually on the wedding day, it will be Meera who will be getting married and it will be her doli that will leave the house. Alaka is zapped and tries to reason with Ammaji that its wrong to lie to Meera. Ammaji tells Alaka that if the lie is said to control the tornado that Meera had created, and there is no other way out, then its ok.
Meera is in her own room. She prays to Lord Ram that since now Ammaji had agreed to the marriage, it is now his turn to convince Alaka. A little later, Ammaji returns to Meera's room and informs Meera that finally Alaka had given her consent to the marriage. Suli and Ira are not very happy with this decision and neither is Gauri. Ammaji tells that her decision is final and no one will raise any questions about it anymore.
Meera then tells Lord Ram that out of anger, she had displaced him from Sita Maiyya's side and had brought him to his room. She requests Shan and Alaka to re-position Lord Ram's idol at the Puja Room. Alaka refuses to do so but finally gives in on Ammaji's insistence. After the idol is back in place, Alaka leaves the Puja Room and walks back to her room. Inside her room, she is shown to be very upset and she questions as to how she will tell lie to Meera and put up a brave, happy front in front of everybody? And what gift would she give Meera when she leaves for her in-laws place? The gift of broken trust? Alaka decides that she wouldnt do such a thing.
Shan is applying balm on Meera's palms and asks her whether it is hurting her. Meera replies in the affirmative but says that she is willing to endure hundreds of such pains for her Mother's happiness. She then asks Shan to go and meet her Mother and try to ease the pains that she had endured for so long. Shan goes down to the hall where Yash is sitting with Suli discussing about the current state of affairs. He is unable to comprehend Ammaji's decision and feels that although nobody can question Ammaji's reasonings, yet her present actions are demanding a reply. Suli retorts as to how Shan and Alaka are busy trying to settle down, instead of thinking about their daughters. Shan overhears this and is very upset.
He then proceeds to Alaka's room but is surprised to see, through the window, her breakdown. He realizes that what Alaka had said earlier was not true and that she had lied in front of everybody.
