Since Devdutt Patnaik is involved, there's a high chance they might do it, but I hope not.

Lakshman and Urmila's conversation before their hug hinted that Urmila would support Lakshman in all his endeavors and not come in-between his duties towards Ram, so hopefully that indicates that she'll send him off with a smile and not need Nidra devi to get through vanvaas.

I don't trust Pattnaik when it comes to this Nidra issue.Still,the chances are 50-50

Urmila had been depicted as an understanding and supportive woman.I would love it if she becomes Lakshman's source of strength and holds back the family together in his absence.

Even if they show the Nidra Devi theory, they could do it nicely if they tried.

They could show Lakshman getting super tired at one point, and feeling dejected that he cannot protect his bhaiyya and bhabhi at nighttime. What if someone attacked them? So as Sesh Naag, he summons Nidra Devi and has her relay his message to Urmila, that he needs her to make a huge sacrifice for him by taking his share of sleep, and that he knows it'll be difficult for her but that her sacrifice will help him perform his duty. Although Urmila is not happy with the decision to sleep, she agrees to help out her husband and takes a promise from Mandavi and Shrutkirti that they will serve the three mothers in her place.

IDK, I don't like this story, but if they show it in this way, it might make it a bit better right?

They could even show a beautiful scene with Lakshman (as Sesh Naag) coming to visit Urmila in all his divine glory, and requesting her to make this sacrifice for him, and Urmila herself summoning Nidra Devi.

There could not have been a more better way to execute this Nidra theory👏

And I have this wish of getting bgms for Lakshman like we have for Ram--Sita.The lyrics of the Lakshman stuti that you posted earlier can make the perfect by bg tunes.

Nidra need not be actual sleep. Just her listless self. Urmila goes through he daily routines but a greater part of her being is with laxmana and hence the nidra.
