@Raima you have bought out a beautiful point. For women to be independent. I would rather stress on financial independence. It is not just for keeping your self respect, it is also for guiding your family if any calamity strikes. Today we have widows, women whose husbands are not able to work due to disease or due to disability from accidents. In such cases instead of wallowing in pain, and dependent on extended family if a woman is financially independent she can take care of herself and if kids are involved she will be in a better position to give a good future to the kids.
Still woman are asked to leave their identity, compromise on personal goals post marriage. Yes give and take is necessary. But then for the betterment of family, it will be good if woman also work.We can avoid situations like Vrindavan widows.
