Sunday ME was majorly on portraying the character of Ravan. Ram can't be simply praised for winning over a normal asura. So the + and - of Ravan are welcomed.

During my childhood time of BRC MB, our friends group was more interested in watching the war where the pandavas and kauravas even after talking directly in battlefield they aimed their arrows in the sky . That was the question raised in my mind and not about dharm and adharmšŸ˜†. I still remember the sarcastic words of my uncle during 1989, correlating with TN assembly incident that "even lord krishna is scared to come now". These events which MB CV's showed in serial, planted the seeds in our minds to go and search for books and know what was actually depicted.

The details may look like autobiography šŸ˜‰ but I mentioned to highlight the basic important contribution of the SKR CV's. From the beginning, CV's didnt stick on to Valmiki Ramayan and they incorporated the events from various sources with eye-catching special effects. This may attract the young generations and I hope they may start their re-search process to know our roots from our books. If this is what the CV's did for our society, my full appreciation for them šŸ‘.

Note 1: It will be better if our next generation read from books rather than ebooks. Because in ebooks, we put search and read only those content and not the entire details.

Note 2: SP can you please avoid tagline promo and other advertisement while the show is running. It is not only distracting, its annoying.

This is my POV and welcome the different perspectives.

I agree to you Ramya. When watching MB I had loved Bhima's war cry and then those special effects where astras clash. Remember those days when two arrows come in direct contact sometimes both disappear, or at times the villain's arrow is nullified and the hero's arrows move forward šŸ˜†.
BRC MB had another side effect on me. I learnt to correlate Hindi with words in Malayalam. In Kerala hindi started in schools only by 5th and I guess during MB I was in 3rd or 4th. So was not understanding hindi. In those days on sundays the Mathrubhoomi newspaper will put the entire transalation of dialogues of the episode in the sunday supplement. I will read that in the morning and when I watch MB I used to sit with that paper in my lap and then will see dialogues and compare. My baby steps in understanding Hindi started with that. Terms like bhratashri, pitashri šŸ˜†šŸ˜†.
Yes younger generation will love the special effects, battles and they will search. I agree to you and actually it is the right time for parents to give them the appropriate book that suits the age. I mean if it is teenager who knows the basic story, good literature around epics can be given and if it is a child then of course the Amar Chitra Katha collections are a good starting point to read about roots and culture.

@Shruthi: Yes, memorable days. We bought plastic bow and arrow also. Most of my friends wanted to be in pandavas side in game just for the fact they won the battlešŸ˜†

I had hindi in my school but it was just one more language for me and I too understood the dialogue with thuglak magazine where complete translation was given. Same experience.😊 Even to read tamil, I troubled my grandparentsšŸ˜†.

you are right CVs are doing a good job by incorporating different versions of Ramayan and other stories. I never knew about the yesterday's scene where Ravan fights powerful Godess Kaali Mata
Immediately after the show stared searching for Ravana Samhita😃 epics will have a great impact on everyone and its not possible if they stick to a single story line.I appriciate skr teamšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ for their research and efforts
I am sitll unable to find the Katig story as in from where did they take it???
it really highlighted Lakshman's character in the episode. They have neatly picturised that secene as Lakshman is the avatar of Adi shesha😃
I also felt the tagline regarding Ravana Samhita is distracting they could have added the details regarding it either in the beginning or at the ending.other shows adds are even more irritating
I wish younger generation show interest in our epics as now a days kids love fantasy world every one is intrested in Harry potter, lord of kings, sherlock holmes series etc,
with all the efforts SKR team is putting in this generation kids will surely like the way our epics are depicted and will read our epics too. They will surely get to know ethics in our Great Indian culture.
once again team SKRšŸ‘šŸ‘

@Manas: I think its mrityu Devi who obeys the order of yamraj and not kali which is the fierce form of ma shakthi. Oh, u went to search for Ravan samhita šŸ‘. This is what is good for our society. Do point out any special events mentioned over in the book. More than this source detail, the add was quite irritating.

If I remember, CV's showed that parasuram was the brother of vishwamitra at the end of swayamvar episode. That is wrong Vishwamitra was the brother of parasuram's grandma satyavati.

@katig story is imagination of CVs I feel. I searched internet like anything for any reference of this story. In some literature and they didn't show the source also. So all in all I feel it was just put in to introduce Lakshmila and to show who Lakshman is.
As I read in another post here Katig stands for Ayiylam star where all Nagas are associated.

Beautiful post Ramya ...
I am loving that they are mentioning the sources and every Monday they give interesting facts about Ramayana...

I beg to differ a bit here
SKR didn't say that Vishwamitre and Parshuram were brothers
They said Parshuram was Vishwamitre's brother's son...
So they skipped one generation in between oh šŸ˜†

Ramya much needed post šŸ‘
I too found the tagline during episode bit irritating or rather more distracting while watching the episode But the facts highlighted must be shown in start or End of the episode , so that the viewers know the fact also n we get to watch the episode without any distractions 😳
