That is how I was picturing it. I don't know what type of stuff they showed for Kunal and Nandini romance in the past except for what was shown in the flashbacks. From what I have seen about Kunal and Mauli, I strongly feel Kunal will fall for her again. In Kunal's mind Mauli still seems like the best thing that happened to him. He considers her the best woman, and as he once said when you have the best you don't want the rest...or something weird like that. He feels this connection/fascination/affection/lust for Nandini. I am sure it's a form of love, but not the same love he once shared with his wife. I think he will realize it eventually.

If Nandini ever has a baby I think she will give it to Kunal and Mauli to raise at the end. I definitely don't see Kunal and Nandini ending up together, I don't care what was shown.

I know we always complain about what message the show is trying to send. Let's look at the bigger picture. In the main promo, Nandini says "apni ghar baasane jaoongi, toh apni best friend ka ghar toot jayega." I know in the show at the moment Nandini doesn't give a shit about Mauli's ghar but eventually it will catch up to her because I don't think Nandini will be written as a villain. She will have to make some sort of sacrifice, repent in some major way.
