Amidst all the chaos and vibration, this dialogue of Nandini caught my attention, she says Kunal is her Punji, punji translates to her asset, so she thinks Kunal is her asset

First of all I don't like when people call women "maal" or "Item", basically I don't like objectification of women and same goes for men, Kunal is not an asset, he's a human

Secondly, Nandini is smarter than I thought, if you think about it, she invested roughly 100 rupees in kheer then say 5000 in Saree and landed a doctor and he's her punji, you know in Bihar, where dowry system is prevalent, they have fixed rates for doctors and engineers, a few years back I read that for a doctor a father pays around 10-20 lacs dowry and Nandini got a doctor in less than 10,000.

Note - Its a fun post, I don't support dowry

Writers do worst job when it comes to her dialogues.
But I have a slightly different take-
Punji means asset. True. But asset necessarily doesn't only mean the tangible goods, i.e, money or physical things only. I mean Goodwill is an asset too but it is intangible asset.
For some people, memories, emotional bonds are assets in hypothetical words. For some, a person can be an asset not because of money but because of the brain, security they provide. Asset in a poetic language has a very different meaning.
For Nandini, Kunal is the only human asset, not just because of money but also on psychological levels.

In no way, I support Nandini & her dialogues make me cringe hard as well.

But she said that kunal is her jaan and what not, if it was Kunal who has said that Nandini or Mauli is his asset, don't you think we would have been offended for objectification? I just don't agree with this word
