I couldnt stop crying.

It was about how women sell liquor and then they get raped.

When people wanted to help them...the women refused for the sake of livelihood.

They thought getting raped is normal.

Then next topic was about domestic violence.

Everyone was beaten by their husband sometime.

There was this lady who made women realise that they were getting raped and getting raped is not normal.

My close relatives , 2 girls in different familie are victims of domestic abuse and harrassment but cant step.out of their marriage ..its not as easy as "why dont they leave the man"...talk to your maids , each one of them is a victim of abuse and mariral rape..deep inside we are living in an uncivilized society ..development is only an eye wash

It happens in more than 80% of indian families and even if you have all the relatives and family in the world you cant come out of it.

I watched it.

And her statement was mind-boggling but very true.

Most women out there don't even know that they shouldn't be beaten up by husband because he is a husband or it's not husband's right to rape them or mentally, emotionally abuse them, physically beat them. They think it's normal for men to behave like that. The Sadism & narcissism has been so belittled in their lives & they think the behavior that sprouts from it is absolutely normal. They don't even think it's an issue since they discard it by saying that they have anger issues.

I remember reading a survey on married women especially in rural areas where it were women who had to take the responsibility of contraception or undergo a operation for the same because they felt Men can't undergo operation as they have to go to work daily & it will affect their health. They even said, it's a women's responsibility if she doesn't want kids and that's why it's her who should undergo contraceptive measures while men shouldn't be taking any responsibility for it that can burden them in their moments of pleasure or chance of going to another woman for their pleasure. While it's a medically proven fact that vasectomy is much more easy & harmless than female sterilization.

The non-awareness about so many things in the society can render us speechless & numb on so many levels.
