I'll become a star: Pankaj Tiwari He says, "I don't believe in spirits or ghosts but I believe in destiny. If I am destined to be a star, I'll become a star no matter what." The actor who plays the male lead, Hari, in Shree describes the show, " It is a love story with a paranormal element." But how is it different from other such shows? He answers with ease, "This is one serial where you get a nice mix of humour, horror, romance and the supernatural." Continuing our conversation about fate, we asked him if he thought hard work wasn't as important as fate and he replied, "I believe a person works hard only if he is destined to work hard. There are so many people who work hard but do not achieve what they want to, why? Because they are not fated to achieve it." He wears emerald and blue sapphire rings and claims that things have become better after he wore them. He says, "I am a computer engineer by profession. But I didn't want to spend my life in front of a computer. I wanted to do something creative in life. And then as the fate would have it, I came to Mumbai." Though he has been spotted in a few ads, Shree is his first break on the small screen. Was his family excited when he appeared on TV in those ads for the first time? "They were very excited. All my relatives would give me calls and say 'Wow! We just saw you on TV'. Personally I didn't see what was so exciting about it, as I only came on TV for something like 4 seconds." Well, the ad stint might not have been very satisfying but is he happier now after bagging a lead role? "Yes, I'm quite satisfied but I still have to go a long way to go," he says, adding after a short pause, "When my serial was to start, my dad was with me in Mumbai. We saw the promos and the hoarding together. I will never forget those moments, I felt so proud and I could see my dad felt the same way." Acting is definitely something that is close to his heart, but it's not his first love. And what is that, we ask? His girlfriend who's in Mumbai too, is the answer. After being prodded to speak more about her, he says, "We are together since last five years. Our families know about us and if all goes well we will marry too. But don't ask me her name, please." So, is he ready to face all the gossip that comes with the job ? He laughs and says, "There is fire only if there is smoke." http://movies.indiatimes.com/News__Gossip/Television_News/Ill_become_a_star_Pankaj_Tiwari/articleshow/3987380.cms |
