Well his reason to break up with Shagun 1.0 was not trivial... As much as I do agree, it was a major life decision but Shaurya's way of handling was too one sided and he was typical mysogynist...

Only sensible point in their break up showing Shagun as wrong one was Shagun not discussing this earlier than that... But glad she didn't bring it up post engagement either... Her timing was in a way bad... Baaki kuch nai... Again she didn't need his permission and all... But basic courtesy to keep him informed.

Nikki has so many reasons to not be linked to Saberwals... One being how toxic the family is... I would rather have her live with his mom than the whole clan... And so many reasons to fall for Shaurya.. He being handsome one to be first major one 🤣

@Bold: Shaurya saw that lack of communication as betrayal more so with his abandonment insecurities. In a way Shagun unknowingly hurt him in his most tender spot. He did not seem much emotionally invested in the relationship anyways, Badi Maa added fuel to the fire and voila he decided to break the engagement singlehandedly.

His relationship with Nikki has been very different so far. He has played more supplicant role than that of a dominant partner. How many times has he apologized so far for one thing or other and this is a person who is supposed to be highly egoistic? He is also emotionally invested in the relationship to the point that his intensity comes across as frightening at times. He is crazy, possessive and passionate. While it is unclear what their relationship will transform to after marriage or even after confession, it is obvious that Shaurya is very protective of her and has already fought with his family or lied on her behalf couple of times.

I will also point out the difference between Shagun and Nikki. Shagun did not inform Shaurya and family about her educational plans even until engagement. While Shagun did not need his permission but in a relationship you think in terms of "us " not "me ", On the other hand when Babli asked Anokhi to back off her budding realtionship with Shaurya, Anokhi's answer was "you are talking to two people di" implying it was not her decision alone. She is thinking "us " not "me".

Frankly even though the whole engagement breakup left a bitter taste but Shagun and Shaurya were not a good match in any capacity other than education and status, no matter who thinks otherwise. It might have been a stroke of luck for both of them that the engagement fell apart.

I agree! That's why I said... There had to be a discussion before even applying... No matter what.. If you are to marry someone... Two people in a relationship must be considered as 'equals' that's the whole point... And must have say, opinion and plan in any major decision of each individual's life in relationship... What Shaurya back then said was also quite one sided to be honest.. He did say.. You didn't take my permission before applying rather than you didn't discuss earlier...

I also believe that Shagun 1.0 just matched the Shaurya's checklist and he wasn't really invested... But Shagun 1.0 was probably... However, she did understand Shaurya didn't love her like he claimed to... And hence she moved on... When Shagun 2.0 was introduced, she said the same thing to Devi... That I wanted this decision to be 'ours' not just mine or his.. But he took the decision nevertheless...
