which type of interest people here find in overacting, melodrama or overstretching in kitchen fights, or exposing the characters (there's no typical shows which did never had a bag of expose episodes, move to the you tube and you will find "Show X episode Y- "Z" exposed; "P" exposes "Q", "Q" exposed...) and taking leap whenever and wherever they wish.

The reason is quite simple. In Indian household everything that you have mentioned above exist even now. So, it's not surprising that India viewers love to watch these kind of shows. If a show with a progressive story comes up it doesn't go too long. Infact if it's a love story viewers will eventually expect hot and bold scenes between the leads and nothing else.
