As requested by Saara, my two cents on the episode.
Quick recap.
It starts with Surbhi crying and telling Naani that she has failed in upholding her promise to Nimmi. Naani is perturbed but Surbhi explains that on her wedding day (Which did not happen) Nimmi had praised her for her assistance to Soumya and asked her to take care of Soumya. Naani consoles her, Varun calls to inquire about Harman's departure. Naani calls Varun again and explains him the situation regarding Maninder's anger and requests Varun to handle things there. Varun agrees with all the wrong intentions, he is happy that Harman himself is creating chaos by bringing the kinnar back in the house.
Surbhi in a stroke of genius decides to run away and packs her bags when Naani stops her recounting Nimmi's several failed attempts to do so. On a side note watching Nimmi again was refreshing can't believe how much I miss her already. Naani explains to Surbhi that at home she has one Maninder face but the world is filled with them how many can she fight.
After the break we see Harman coming to the threshold with Soumya in tow, Preeto is excited and wants to drag him directly to the mandap but Harman pulls Soumya from behind him and thus we see a shocked Preeto. Preeto breaks their handhold only to be gently held by her son who refuses to let go of Soumya and enters the house. Harak Singh brings out his gun (Harak needs a new gun by the way it looked like it had been used in WWII) and points it at Harman exclaiming that he will kill Soumya. Harman then shields her and tells him that he has not granted the right to harm Soumya to God himself.
What stood out.
Naani:
The woman is a G. She knew exactly what to tell Surbhi, she felt it necessary in the wake of her daughter's demise to take over her responsibility of keeping the peace. Her phone call to Varun proves that she is unselfish and knew exactly what the reactions would be to her grand daughter's arrival in that house. Her wise words to Surbhi to not leave the house were so bang on I am glad that we will be seeing Naani in a bigger role than she had earlier.
Preeto:
My God the woman can emote, her excitement on hearing the doorbell, on seeing Harman and her impatience to give him his rightful happy life with a woman was so predominant and portrayed so well by her. The shock when Harman refuses to budge and produces Soumya from behind him and the decision to keep him away from her by tearing his hand away from her. The look of incomprehension when Harman holds her hand to stop taking Soumya away from him and last but not least the intense look that knew that Harman was doomed when he said his lines to Harak Singh. In that moment you can see how brilliantly her eyes stand still as if she knows in the bottom of her heart that Harman loves Soumya with all he has.
Harman:
The larger than life presence of him on my screen had me entranced, his calm understanding of what is to come. His courage in the face of facing not only the wrath but the disappointment of his loved ones. His eyes my God when the camera focused on his face I was like kurte sey matching white lag rahi hai shakal 😆 When Harak had the gun trained on him the way he stepped in front of Soumya, Soumya had rightfully given him that look of disbelief as if to say really would you do that for me? And then his lines uff uff uff, I could hear Madhuri's Maar Daala in my heart... in tangent to his actions. Sab ko hee maar daala dude ney with is one line. Sahi baat hai yeh haq to usney kisi ko nahin diya keh uski Soumya ko uss sey alag karey koi. All in all VD killed it.
Soumya:
Had very less to say but emoted beautifully while remaining silent. What bothered me was that she was ready to leave when Preeto broke her handhold with Harman, woman get a grip that dude is fighting tooth and nail to keep you and you just wanna prance away... WHY!!!! Her second look of disbelief to Harman was so spot on I would've clapped had I been the director.
What did not work:
The stupid BG when Harman rings the doorbell, Varun's stupid smirks that make him more cartoonish than evil, dude needs to amp up his evilness. Daadi's frozen in time face and the first half dedication to Surbhi. Enough people why do we have to suffer Surbhi so much?
This is my first shot at an episode analysis. I might keep doing it provided you guys like it.
Rest of the characters are too useless in my opinion to bother writing about.
