This is exactly what I was going to reply. We all knew this Soumya would be like a reserved, docile type. When she was a kid she did feel bad for her not going out but gradually while growing up she accepted this situation. What to expect from a girl who gets worst treatment from her own father and grandmother. If she was shown to be a bubbly girl then that is complete change of chacterization. I am glad that they kept the characters same.
