How does a movie catch your attention?

Movies come and go, some are great and some are not.

However, all movies have some amount of pre-release hype surrounding them. Either they have very little hype, very average, or a lot of hype.

This depends on how the marketing strategists decide to promote the movie. There are various different factors such as the storyline, star value, music, visual appeals of trailers/posters, etc., that contribute towards generating that attraction and hype.

Personally, I find the trailers to be the first attraction. If it looks appealing to me, then I would consider the movie. However even if the trailers fail to accomplish that, I still tend to get attracted if the music for the movie is good. And if that doesn't work out, I just wait for reviews. There are often surprises through that factor as well.

If heroiens like Samantha is there it will defiently catch our attention 😆

FIrst and foremost a movie will catch our attention before the release is by the trailer ans songs of the films is good. For example big actors film doesn't need any good songs or trailer if the big actors act in any film whether it is good or bad audience will see it. But for small films it need heavy promotion for catching our attention in the beginning they need strong promotion such as good songs, trailer so on.

But after the release if the movie is good only the movie will catch my attention or otherwise it won't catch my atention.. 😆

For me, trailer and songs are the most important thing to catch your attention.

I have watched a lot of movies, only because I loved the songs like Eeram, or Mozhi.

Then of course actors !!

I've also watched some movies after reading reviews or public opinion .

It's the case for Pizza or Kadhalil sodupavathu eppadi.

For me, it's the actors and the type of movie. For example, I don't speak Telugu/Tamil so I am pretty much clueless when it comes to movies there but I do have some favourite actors. So if I Google some movies and there are some romance/comedy/action movies from my favourite actors or some cute actors, then it's a definite for me!

First of all brand loyalty . If its a Rajini , Kamal, Mohanlal, Mamooty, Chiranjeevi , Venkatesh , Mahesh Babu ..I will give it a shot . May be because their movies generally have some substance or good directors, music..U know they package and sell the movies well.

Second is I will wait for the reviews and word of mouth movies , which garner good attention from public. It might be a small budget movie..but audience likes it and I hear from friends how they found the movie surprisingly good.

Now coming to trailers...Its made to sell to public..So obviously it will be visually appealing depending on the budget . But i would prefer to watch a movie which has been tested by mango people , and after the collection/performance reviews only I would spend bucks to watch at multiplex.

definitely trailers catch my eye first but more than that the director n production are also imp to me n yeah actors also...esp if u have some fav actors or the actors who choose diff kind of stories etc ...like sarvanand

music comes aftr all this for me...it used to be jus the opp earlier but these days i learnt to do otherwise

other than all these, when u see that a movie is Mahesh babu or any other fav hero...u generally don't give a damn abt any of this...though u wish/pray that the mv should be good, u watch it either way

For me music comes first and then i look it in to cast and director then trailer.

but trailer may cheat has it happened for routine luv story😕.

If the director is good ultimately every aspect will be good say karunakaran and srinuvaitla trills me with their comedy and trivikram hooks with his dialogues...

I think the storyline is the most important, sometimes I follow my favorite actress and actors tastes but now I don't really like the kind of scripts they took.
I try to follow new directors, they had often new ideas which is great, especially for the cinematography.
