'I AM NOT DESPERATE'
Parvathy S Nayar
Now, who can refuse a Bollywood debut that has been offered to you on a platter? Well, Bhavana has done just that. The actor has refused a film opposite Emraan Hashmi for reasons best known to her. Industry experts say that Bhavana's decision is a big loss for her, as she is still an upcoming actor in the southern film industry.
A film with Emraan as her launchpad could have been her easy ticket to Bollywood. Especially since Emraan's market value has soared in the recent past and the fact that he is considered one of the more bankable stars in B-Town.
At a 10 cr market value, the actor also beats actors like Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Ritiesh Deshmukh.
"I'm not desperate to make a debut in any industry," says Bhavana. As for the film with Emraan, she says, "It required me to do intimate scenes, including smooching and skin show too… elements that are typical of his films. I know where I stand and where to draw the line. If I make my BTown debut, it will be in a sensible role."
Rumour mills have been abuzz about an upcoming debut with director Priyadarshan too, but Bhavana refuses to comment on it.
So, what is on the cards? "In Malayalam, I have director Madhupal's Ozhimuri. In Sandalwood, I have Romeo with Ganesh and Topiwala with Upendra," she says.
