Here's the latest on Superstar's Kochadaiyaan. Actress-danseuse Shobana, who has shared screenspace with Rajinikanth in films like Siva and Dhalapathy, will be part of the dazzling cast in his forthcoming motion capture film.
Confirming the news, Soundarya Rajinikanth, who's helming the project, says, "Yes, Shobana has been roped in to play an important role in the film."
While she refuses to divulge further details about Shobana's character, all she is willing to tell us is, "There was no one other than Shobana aunty on my mind when we came up with this character in the film. The audience will have to wait and see if she will be paired opposite Appa, but I'm just so glad she's a part of this venture. We will also reveal the first look of the film when we go on floors."
Meanwhile, a source tells us that a press note, followed by a briefing session will happen by the end of next week, where the entire cast and crew will be officially announced.
With K S Ravikumar working on the project and A R Rahman composing the tunes, the project seems to be getting bigger by the day. The film will most likely have Katrina Kaif as the female lead, and Aadhi, Prithviraj and Sneha have reportedly been roped in to play important roles. Soundarya and Ravikumar have been shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai to finalize the cast and also to sit with Rahman to work on the tunes for the film. The team has already flown in high-end cameras and equipment, which have been set up in a studio in Chennai.
